Paid $97 for four breakfasts and 4 drinks and a baguette.... normally pay around $65 at our favourite places in Rotorua so had high expectations for the money! The French toast would be the worst Iâve ever had...soggy, flavourless. The banana were not cooked and the cream was from a air can. My 10 year old would have done better. Two of these went to waste. The Omelette my son had was the best dish and the big breakfast my husband had was cold. Only good thing was a runny egg. Walked out feeling like I was robbed. Only good here for a croissant and a coffee.

You can judge a cafe by its popularity! Fig Licensed Cafe is a go-to favourite that makes a good all-in-one stop, especially with the yummy foods from the blackboard menu, the great coffee and the option to also enjoy a glass of wine or beer. Fig serves t
So many places have severe regional variations on popular items and the Fig is simply a wonderful simple and quality sandwich shop and cafe. The steak, mushroom and cheese was terrific and highly recommended, and you will enjoy the selection from the rest of their menu as well!

Skippers Restaurant is aptly named as it has gorgeous water views in a unique location. Dine either indoors or on the large deck outdoors while enjoying unobstructed views of the river, Whale Island, White Island (active volcano) and the ocean beyond. The
you will not leave hungry. they fill the plates. we ordered the seafood chowder - so yum and wedges were piled high with sweet chilli sauce and sour cream. We sat near the window and watched the goings ons on the wharf and a Tuna boat getting filled with ice ready for a voyage out. everyone was friendly. Seemed a popular place for lunch on a Friday. Nice view.

Why, oh why, I wonder, do people venture into the hospitality field, only to PLAY at being waitresses and bar staff? The Little Goose eatery should be thriving, yet when we visited the main dining area was vacant, and rather than eat inside, where all of the hanging baskets had been allowed to die of thirst, we chose to eat outside. The whole establishment is crying out to be refurbished, and the staff need to learn how to welcome guests -- or lose them. The meals we ordered were fine, but the service of these was totally lacking in any kind of professional skills. The 'eatery' is licensed, large but devoid of attractiveness. Just a little effort and so much could change for the better.I understand that there is a "Special" All-You-Can-Eat-Ribs Nighton Tuesdays. I am tempted to attend one of these, but I fear that it might devolve into a gluttonous melee -- and that I simply would not be able to bear. The front-of-house staff desperately need some professional training and guidance. Additionally, and almost without exception on this occasion, they need to do something about improving their own appearance. Perhaps they will undertake the physical labour of sprucing up the eatery. Maybe . then, they might become known as Spruce Little Geese!

Decided on breakfast... and travelled out of town for a change. Upon arrival we were greeted by a lovely staff member. Other girls seemed to be playing at being busy. The drinks were very nice... breakfast was very standard... poached eggs were firm and not at all runny. Cutlery was just plonked down. Overall not the best dining experience by far

The White House Cafe is a family run business that is based on good food and good service. We are situated just minutes from Whakatane on Thornton Road, in a charming traditional villa in a lovely semi-rural setting. There is seating inside the villa, on
Ordered two calamari meals and one drink which came to $41. Was very surprised When I received my meal. For $18 I received 7 pieces of squid. All laid on lettuce. I asked the chef if this was the entree size. The waitress said it was because it was good quality squid... Iâve tasted better in boxes at the supermarket. Itâs was floury, chewy and no flavour. For $18 I would have expected some chips with it at least. Lucky I wasnât that hungry... pathetic. Absolute would not recommend this cafe to eat at.Initially the complaint was about the size of the meal being too small, I then cooked an extra portion which we were told was very much appreciated. All food including the extra portion was eaten, please let me know if a meal is not to your liking before consuming it all which although not very hungry as you claim, as I will refund your money or cook you something else. Further more not lettuce as stated but a rocket and fennel salad. Pathetic is a strong and hurtful word...we did well over a 100 covers that Sunday and received no other complaints

Not sure how this cafe reviews highly. When I went to order breakfast, I felt like I was an inconvenience to the guy serving.Food, presented well, but bacon undercooked, and potato burnt. And the orange juice... donât order that... tasted like bitter watered down concentrate.Try somewhere else

We struck a nice day and sat under the umbrella in the outdoor courtyard. You order and prepay at counter, The service we received was friendly and there was a array of choice in the cabinet or on the blackboard menu. You can have a glass of vino with your meal if you wish but on this occasion iced coffees were order of the day-yum!The food arrived and we were all pleased. Try the chicken thigh wrapped in bacon with a few chips :-) The couple with us said they would definately be back.Thank you very much for taking the time to review our business. Our staff are passionate about what they do and produce and we are over the moon that you must feel the same
