Grannies Tea room and Delicatessen was established around 1984, then the tearoom only held a couple of tables placed within the shop. It was only later, in 1989, that the intimate downstairs tea room was developed within the basement where the old fashion
Tucked away down a closed off part of the high street, this little shop serves all things tasty. We only had room for cakes, but my raspberry coconut tart was a treat.Prices are reasonable and service is brisk.

We have eaten at the Running Fox in Felton many times, so we decided to try the latest Running Fox in Shilbottle on our way to Alnwick. We chose the "Special" of the day which was a hot beef sandwich served with spicy wedges. The sandwich was HUGH! The offer of endless coffee tops was greatly appreciated.
This family run cafe recently opened. We've been in a couple of times to try lunch and breakfast. All of the food we have tried is delicious, including the homemade scones and cakes! The coffee is their own blend and is lovely.

Bari [baa-ree] - Lovely in Northumberland. Contemporary tea brewery, with a traditional Northumberland heart: fine teas and teaware to try before you buy. Open 7 days during school holidays, closed Tues & Weds in Term time. Please check our website for de
Waited for a table with my husband and 8 year old for lunch. They only serve soup and scones for lunch. Board advertised 2 soups. Got given the menus. Still no one mentioned theyâd only got one soup left. When we ordered, we got told it was hot chilli and not suitable for our daughter. We asked if she could try a teaspoon as she actually enjoys lots of flavours, and they said no. Apparently it is in portions? Presumably the trouble of heating up a portion of the only thing you sell was too much trouble for your potential customers whoâve been hanging round for 10 minutes. So thereâs nothing to eat? I asked. Waitress huffed back that the soup had been being served for ages and was all gone, as though we were perhaps a bit fronty to rock up at a cafe for lunch at 1.30pm. Not a great deal of choice in neighbouring places unless you want things with chips, so be mindful before you wander into Alnwick planning to come here, they may have nothing to eat at lunchtime at all.
We stopped at this cafe today for a late lunch & wish we hadn't bothered! Poor quality ingredients served on the Mega Breakfast & at £6.95 it didn't come cheap. The sausages were probably the worst we had ever had & we've eaten a lot of sausages in our 60+ years. Everything on the plate was of a poor quality, pretty bland & not worthy of a better review! We We noticed that the man sitting at the next table left most of his Mega Breakfast, so it wasn't just us who found it not to our taste. Would we go here again - no! Would we recommend this cafe - no!

We came across this gem of a place on our way to Alnwick. Delicious home cooked food, made to order. Very helpful, friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. Clean and very reasonable prices. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others and will definitely visit again if in the area.

Amble is quite a touristy area and as the other tearooms/cafés were filled, we stopped for a scone and tea at the Harbour Guest House. Several familes and couples were enjoying their Sunday roasts and I noticed that the menu has various sizes of the Sunday meal so that you can order the amount that you want and only have to pay for that amount. Our scones were good and the waitress pleasant. The restrooms are located outside at the back of the building so you have to, depending on the weather, bundle up before heading there.
We are a local business in Amble Northumberland and we serve home cooked food fresh every day.
We drop in on a Saturday lunchtime. Very pleasantly surprised, nice contemporary decorations. With funky Ikea ceiling lights. Fresh flowers on the tables. Very reasonable priced wines, other alcoholic drinks available from the bar. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Good selection on the menu, from breakfasts through simple starters and mains. Salads and Sandwiches and a basic kids menu. They accept cash or card. The lady who cooks came over and advised on the specials ânotâ on the menu. Steak pie just out of the oven, a quiche in the oven about 10 minutes wait or a corned beef dish. Mmmmmm I plumped for homemade steak pie, beef dripping chips, peas and gravy.Tuna sandwich on lovely fresh brown bread, side salad and coleslaw with crisps. Pie £6:95 Sandwich £3:95.Delightful so much so I couldnât eat the pie.

Only been here twice it need to come more! The first time was for breakfast which was delicious! The second time was for cocktails, which is a night I can barely remember! Mick the owner is extremely friendly and professional. I think he deserved a medal for putting up with us girls and better still, putting up with me after far too many cocktails! Great place all round.

Cafe and bed and breakfast serving excellent quality locally sourced Northumbrian produce.
We were recommended this cafe and it didn't disappoint. The coffee & cakes were delicious and as it was sunny we were able to sit outside in the lovely courtyard. The staff were very hard working in this busy cafe. Thank you!!
