Located in the beautiful village of Wolverley and trading as The Old Village Store since November 2007. In August 2017 the business was passed on and is now trading as Gil's. Our ethos, is simple, fresh, quality product and it's working. We've given the p
Now called 'Gil's' this is a small and quaint village restaurant serving breakfasts and light lunches. The food is freshly prepared to order with wholesome ingredients (gorgeous bread) and nicely presented, for very little cost e.g. crab and prawn sandwich with salad £5.50. You can also have a lovely afternoon tea. Highly recommended and a pleasant change from pub food.Thank you very much indeed. We do ensure everything is fresh and the bread of course is baked locally and delivered daily. I think we're excellent value and you're right, it is a nice change. Having a pub as a neighbour is great for visitors as they have a choice and it's nice to have both in the village. Thanks again and see you soon. Gil

The owners are friendly and clearly proud of their business - good for them. Coffee wasn't great, but I am a fusspot in this regard Definitely worth a visit!

Breakfast served. Milano coffee. Panini. Healthy Food. Freshly prepared. Owned and managed by passionate industry experienced chefs. We train and develop local catering students with our new bistro evenings, offering a 3 course fine dining style menu. The
Went to the Bistro evening with friends to celebrate my 40th birthday. There was 17 of us and we had to pre order our food (completely understandable as the Bistro evenings are a special event) We paid £16 each for a 3 course meal which was of a very high standard. We were able to take our own alcohol or buy non alcoholic drinks which was perfect for a large group of friends. Staff were lovely and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our food. They even provided a special vegan menu to accommodate one of my guests. Thanks for a great relaxed evening, will be looking out for future events :) Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed it

A well established cafe with links to The Deli in the Village. Freshly cooked food, good selection of drinks and a nice atmosphere and setting
Looking for somewhere to celebrate a birthday, selected Hagley Cafe from recent good TA reviews and so glad I did.Phoned before to reserve a table in 30 minutes time, spoke to very friendly lady who was happy to make the reservation. Everything was just perfect, menu choices, staff, service and most of all the quality of the food, everything freshly cooked and well presented.Prices are I suppose slightly at the upper end but it certainly reflected the quality, not greasy just well cooked food. Drinks aren't included in the breakfast price but no problem. Didn't need anything else to eat until much later. It was busy with presumably locals getting sandwiches etc. Would certainly hope to visit again to sample other choices.A visit well worth a 5 star rating.Thank you so much for your very kind review. I'm very pleased that we were able to contribute to your birthday celebrations and we hope to see you all again very soon. Amanda

Woo hoo! This place is super impressive! The prices are on the high side but I believe you get what you pay for. The cakes are so amazing, the coffee is hot and fresh, the welcome is warm. The cinnamon doughnut with fresh cream, blackberries and apple is off-the-scale! It was very busy when we visited (2pm on a Thursday afternoon!) so I would recommend reserving a table if you're planning to eat at a certain time. What a wonderful cafe! Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. We are glad you enjoyed everything from the coffee to the cake to the service. We look forward to welcoming you again soon!Aimee and Rich

Visited for the high tea with 3 friends. Surantha went above and beyond to cater for our tastes avoiding ham, accommodating for vegetarians, and for non tea and coffee drinkers. Food was so fresh and the portions were very generous. Absolutely amazing cakes and pastries that are delicious. Incredible value for money and could not recommend more. Thankyou so much.
