Small cafe on the high street. First visit but enjoyed. Had a very tasty bacon sandwich with freshly squeezed orange juice for under 4 pound. 4 tables all full with builders having large breakfast. It looked excellent and less than a fiver. Everything is cooked fresh to order.
This cafe is at the local equestrian centre and only been open 3 days, Very modern interior and you can see the horses being put through there paces in the indoor centre. I went for breakfast and had the small grill. Comprised bacon, sausage ,black pudding ,eggs and some great tasting bloody Mary beans and toast. All cooked nicely and served with a good latte. I was offered a free refill as staff practising coffee making which was nice. Only criticism was the butter was very hard so difficult to spread but very nice tasting butter. Would visit again and another good breakfast option in Standish,

We are a friendly local cafe offering a range of healthy delicious food! We have plenty of vegetarian, vegan & gluten free options available.
Have noticed this cafe driving past for a while and kept meaning to visit. Today I called in and was amazed at how good the food is. Cafe is very clean and smart with a varied healthy menu. The Budha boxes looked very good and were very popular. I had the smashed avacado on sourdough toast with poached egg, bacon and mushrooms. It was very tasty and was well presented. The coffee is also very good here. There is something on the menu for everyone here and the prices are very reasonable. Service is also good with very pleasant staff. Will be visiting regularly in future. Thanks very Much Mike! We will look forward to your next visit.

Enjoy the Houghwood experience in a perfect setting, overlooking the beautiful North West Countryside. With a modern British menu on offer, together with traditional Sunday Lunch. The first floor restaurant with its great food, friendly staff, magnificent
Very pleasant surroundings with beautiful views as far as the river Mersey. Brunch in the Spikes Bar was okay but the menu has been much reduced including the disappearance of the scrumptious turkey and cranberry sandwiches. No festive afternoon teas being served this year also a disappointment. Hopefully the new year will see a review of the menu. Also £2.25 for a small bottle of Coca Cola is rather excessive.

This was our first visit to VJâs Cafe Bar and it will not be our last. The dining area is divided into several different rooms which seems to work okay. The staff are very nice and the food we ordered was both tasty and delivered very quickly. Really enjoyed our first visit.

Haven't been to The Paddock for quite some time so we (four adults) thought that we'd give it a go. Called at 10.am for breakfast, no reservation, but shown to a table immediatel;y, althought it had just opened there were quite a few tables already occupied.Very expansive and detailed menus provided which we perused while enjoy tea and coffee. The menu (including a kids menu) was very comprehensive. Four different breakfasts ordered, mine being eggs Benedict whcih I have never ordered in this Country. Breakfasts served and everyone was happy with both the presentation and quality of their food.I have got to say that I was bowled over by my Eggs Benedict, which looked incredible, tasted incredible and was possibly one of the best breakfasts that I have ever eaten. I cannot over-state the taste and quality of that meal. All four us were complimentary to the Chef.Hats off to the Chef and likewise to the very pleasent and efficient serving staff in the restaurant, I, for one will be back before long, for MY eggs Bene........

The cakes are all gorgeous, in fact you might sturugglento get to the top tier of the cake stand for the slice of cake! The afternoon teas are amazing, lots of lovely sandwiches, amazing little treats, scones (which are warm), clotted cream and jam and your choice of cake! A huge slab of the stuff! Amazing. Great food and superb service. Thanks mrs Lyons for a special afternoon tea with great friendsHi. Thank you for taking the time out to give us this fantastic review!
