What a lovely cosy little café is The Cove, really friendly staff who made time to stop and have a chat and a laugh with their customers. We have holidayed in Cornwall since the late sixties, sampling many "cream teas" and can honestly say that the one we enjoyed here was most certainly one of the best - home made scones (still warm)and both the strawberry jam and clotted cream were locally sourced. You have missed a real treat if you don't manage to pay them a visit. What a marvellous review ! thank you so much for taking the time to put it on for us. Our scones are always fresh and because of this, along with the wonderful Boddingtons jam and Trewithen dairy clotted cream we have a good reputation. It is with pride that we serve our Cream Tea's so it's is wonderful when we get lovely feedback. I will ensure all the girls see this. Take care and hope to see you again one day Alison

Although we only intended a coffee, there were samples of the Apple and Ginger cake on the counter and it was delicious so could not resist a piece with cream! Lovely friendly staff, lovely view, locally sourced produce, lots of cake choice and delicious - would definitely recommend!

What a fantastic breakfast. Just loved the service and the food. Great selection of different breakfasts all with Toast, Juice and Hot Drink included. I had Bubble and Squeak with Eggs, Bacon, and Mushroom. The other three had small, large and medium breakfasts - all great. The decor is fab .... almost as good as the food.Wish we lived closer!

Came on a sunny Saturday evening for a look and a bite to eat. Can safely say I wasnât disappointed. Was a regular at the beach growing up so knew it was a nice location. Great tunes, tasty food and very friendly staff, helped by a lovely Cornish summers evening. Definitely going again when Iâm in the area.

Busy, vibrant coffee shop with more. Very good coffee and delicious Chelsea bun with salted caramel - not too sweet, thanks to the lovely bun. Newly opened upstairs provides lots of reading areas and casual seating with a deliberately modern, bright, homely feel. Pity I wasn't in Cornwall longer. I would definitely return - frequently.

We had a great birthday lunch here. Good quality and value food, great gin and beer selection, as well as amazing service. Kelly even arranged the birthday cake and balloons for us, as we were travelling down from outside of the area. Definitely recommend!

This review relates only to The Stewards House food & drink establishment. The positives - friendly staff, a few nice tables generally clean, and a pleasant lawn with picnic blankets (albeit rather dirty) where you can picnic. The less positives - the sandwiches are poor quality, with meagre fillings and expensive. I think they are made onsite as I could see half-loaves of bread on the preparation area behind the counter. The cakes are good but pricey. Drinks selection is good. The warm sausage rolls and patties looked a bit tired.Specific gripe... £3.50 for a pre-packed ham salad sandwich, which had a two thin slices of ham, a couple of slices of tomato and hang a handful of wilting lettuce leaves, served on buttered but very dry (not stale, but close) bread, and for which I had to pay to add some cheap mayo from a sachet. My wifeâs cheese sandwich was similarly unimpressive at a little less cost.Never again.Come on Heligan, by all means charge a fair price, but donât knock-out this junk.

A ` Back to Bistro` relaxed bar and eatery. Great Cornish breakfasts, Local dishes by day and light bites and Tapas influences on `Feast evening` events
I was supporting a woman with learning difficulties on day our on St Austell and having walked past several closed shops we happened upon this place and decided to give it a go. I was really impressed with the menu and the service. The waitress was really patient and kind with the person I was supporting. The place was clean and inviting. There was plenty of space between tables and we were able to safety park a shopping trolley. We had two lovely lunches with drinks for £10 each. I was pleased with my vegan meal which was a platter including nuts, olives, roasted veggies, salad, hummus, flatbread, garnished with endive and pomegranate. Lovely and fresh. Nicely presented. I will head back there next time I'm in St Austell

After a wander round the village and quayside and museum, we were feeling peckish having driven past Charlieâs we decided to go back up the road and try it out. We each had panini min with mozzarella, bacon and sun blush tomatoes, my wife goats cheese and sun blush to,stones. Both were excellent. One double espresso and a cup of tea with the bill at £16. Well worth it. Great ambience and well served.Thank you for the lovely feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your visit to us at Charlie's and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
