Doing some shopping when in St Andrews and decided to have a meal in the cafe. We noticed the small plate menu which offered a full starter, small plate main and full dessert for an amazing £6! This was ordered efficiently and brought freshly cooked to our table using a colour coded table number, again very efficient. Food was average, no frills but no faults either, just what you would expect in a supermarket restaurant but the staff were excellent and the value was unbeatable. One comment, don't order if you are in a rush, our three course meal took one hour from ordering to completion. Oh and all very clean as were toilets.

Seems in a year I am the only one to review. Thought I would write again as have revised as family own a caravan onsiteCertainly poorer than before. Breakfast was awful and not enough seats in the evening. They also ran out of some popular drinks. A sign on the bar says 'cash only' and the ATM does not work!!!!!

We were looking for an outside space yesterday to catch up with our good friends. We fancied a glass of something nice and a âsharing somethingâ! What we were looking for wasnât on the menu but within a couple of minutes we got exactly what we wanted, a delicious tasting platter with meats, cheese, olives, chutney, veg crisps, bread... It was fabulous. The gentleman that served us was so nice and as for the champagne... what can I say ...lush!!

Having looked at the photo of the cake stand on the gallery above and read the reviews, we chose this for an 86th birthday treat with our relative. Apart from reserving a table with a nice view for us, they were otherwise totally unprepared. Our relative uses a walking aid and tires easily but the young server kept us standing for ages saying she didnât know anything about afternoon tea and this was just a self service cafe. After checking with others we were shown to our table. Then she suggested that I join the long queue at the counter to order our drinks. When she saw the look on my face she quickly changed her mind and took our tea order. Five minutes later, three cake stands were plonked on the table. No explanation, no request for sandwich preferences. Our relative doesnât eat chicken but one of the three small finger sandwiches was chicken so we had to swap around. There was NO hot savouries as shown on the photo above and NO sponge cakes.. instead we each got a Tunnocks tea cake and a quarter each of two traybakes, one of which was mint, which I donât eat. Again no choice. The single scone was large and more of a sponge consistency. Again no choice of a fruit scone or jam flavour. The server did not return at all and my husband had to go to the counter for extra hot water when our tea ran out. Then 8 people took the table (for 4) right next to us and squeezed in all around it. They were nice but noisy and spilled over into our space and the staff made no attempt to help us out. Surely if you pay for afternoon tea as a special treat, some attempt should be made to keep a nice corner of the place for that purpose. It was clear the table next to us needed more space and we left a little earlier than planned. I then went into the queue to pay the £37.50 for the three of us. Only to be advised by the woman on the checkout that she didnât know how to process it and Iâd have to take a seat and wait for the manager - that took another 5 minutes. She did ask how it went and I told her it was poor and very disappointing. She said she would tell the chef and they couldnât do much more because they have such a tiny kitchen! Then DONâT offer afternoon tea. My elderly relative was clearly disappointed but we made the best of it. The views ARE amazing, but this is just a cafe stop and the afternoon tea is a disgrace. Before you book, please compare my photo of it with one promoted above. There is NO comparison.Good morning,I wanted to thank you publicly for taking the time to discuss your review with me over the phone. As I previously stated I am very sorry for the experience you have and hope that we have gone someway to rectifying it .RegardsManager

We were strolling the town and stumbled upon this place. We ordered a sandwich and some cannolis and enjoyed a table in here. The sandwich was a real nice touch, well done on platter with chips...Cannolis were great, fresh and tasty! Great little place to stop in the city!

Bibi's Cafe's motto, "HOME OF GREAT FLAVORS" displayed on window from the street is true and valid. Bibi, owner, personally took our order promptly, notwithstanding the busy lunch hour: French Brie Paninis w/Fine Tomato and Chilli Jam, Avacado Toast, and Butternut Squash...ALL DELICIOUS! I marveled at the efficiency of Bibi and her staff. Food is prepared behind the counter and in full view. WHOLEHEARTEDLY RECOMMENDED. Total bill for two: 25.85 GBP.

Found this review challenging to write: we had good service in the steak barn - friendly and speedy (helped almost empty at a Wed lunchtime). The 8oz steaks seemed pricey at £19.99 for a sirloin, but they arrived cooked perfectly, and were so tasty they were the best we have had for many a year. However, small portion of rocket and just a few chips. I hate having my meal on the wooden platters - apart from trying to keep our meal on them whilst cutting meat up etc, the sauce trickles off, and I never convinced that the platters can be well cleaned between customers. The cruets and cutlery were in pots on the (shared) bench tables, and have never been cleaned out by the look of the debris inside them. My bench blanket was cold and felt damp and I couldn't help wondering if they were laundered regularly as they were not 'bubbled' as you would expect the wool to be if they were. Then I thought about barns....mice....all the kitchen equipment, the cutlery and platters, the blanket I was sitting on - and decided that I can't fault the quality of the steak, but at this price, I would want the usual indoors environment with more guarantee of hygiene. Sorry Balgove.
