This was the second time I "accidentally stumbled upon" this place. It's a very nice place to go if you're making a drive between Northern and Southern California and opting for the 101 route. Very nice people running and staffing the place, outdoor seating, large menu, and the offerings, while standard fare (nothing exotic or "fusion-y") is well done and very tasty. It's in a great location, too, very close to the freeway, so it's easy in and easy to get back out on the road. This will be a "go to" for me, if I actually remember it's here. Otherwise I'll probably just stumble on it again.
We were lodging almost next door and this chocolate store was simply habit forming. While we restricted our selections to dark chocolate, which were beyond scrumptious at $2 per, I am guessing that milk and light chocolate are habit forming as well.

I visit this restaurant at least once a week and their breakfast is incredible! I have really enjoyed the hashbrowns at Budget cafe! I would recommend all their breakfast plates and the pancakes are awesome! They have friendly staff, quick service and at the end amazing food!

A slice of the old west, the Cowgirl Café in San Luis Obispo serves breakfast and lunch in a casual, cozy western-styled motifâ¦pictures of horses, cattle, rodeos, âThe Duke,â cowgirls and cowboys decorate the walls. The TVâs play country music videos on CMT, and the service is fast, professional and friendly. The menu encompasses a huge variety from bacon and eggs to pancakes and French toast to triple-decker sandwiches to chicken fried steak with country gravy to grits and everything imaginable in-between. Portions are large and the cooks are very skilledâ¦the food is delicious and moderately priced. Open daily from 6 AM to 2 PM, the Café is family friendly, wheelchair accessible and has plenty of free parking.

This place feels like an old-fashioned diner (we love the decor!)â and it serves food appropriate for an old-fashioned diner â great burgers, sandwiches, fries, onion rings, milk shakes and sundaes. And, everything is served quickly with a good old-fashioned smile and helpful attitude. On our most recent visit my wife and I and our two teenage sons ordered a Luna Burger, Marilyn Burger, the Boogie Woogie Chicken Sandwich and an order of Chicken Strips. The burgers were stacked high with an excellent meat patty and all the goodies that came with them â bacon, avocado, Ortega chili, lettuce and tomato, all of which were fresh and delicious. The chicken sandwich and chicken strips included large pieces of perfectly prepared chicken. We shared a split order of very tasty fries and onion rings. To finish, we all shared a large Brownie Sundae that was excellent. The brownie was warm, soft and perfect with the vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Four hungry people walked in â four happy people walked out. We will return.

The Del Monte Cafe has been around at least since 1985. I went for the first time in 1988 and I've been going regularly for 30 years. Believe me when I tell you this is where the locals in San Luis Obispo come to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Weekend breakfast is especially crowded.Perfect blend of food and service. The salads are enormous. Even the small versions are enough for two people. I usually get the chicken/avocado. The taco salad and the Chinese chicken are also excellent. The secret at Del Mont is dinner. Usually not too crowded. Deborah, the owner, always has a special menu at night. Changes nightly. Don't be fooled by what you see online.?Outdoor dining also available. Casual and not overly expensive. One of the best--and most reliable--restaurants in the entire county. Love this place.

Mint and Craft is yet another successful eatery brought to us by Robin Covey, the master of great restaurant experiences in SLO. Great little place, very unpretentious, and with wonderful options--particularly in the early morning, when SLO downtown is just waking up. Very nice atmosphere, and it's always nice to sit outside and watch the world go by, SLO-style!

The Famous Copper Cafe is popular with tourists and locals alike for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all served in a continental atmosphere. Elaborate woodcarvings, red leather seats, and hand-painted walls create a memorable, unique experience. Adjacent th
Waited years to come to he Madonna Inn and left feeling very disappointed. Our server was not good - even failed to mention the daily special - and the gal that served the wine needed a lesson in etiquette. Plus our food was nothing special. Definitely very over rated. Glad we didn't go there for dinner - the dining room is so garish with fake dirty flowers if would make you sick. The kicker - as a person with a disability I could not get to the gift shops - up a lot of stairs and they have no elevator. The one thing I really wanted to do there and was discriminated against to do it..........

Came here with my wife and son after a college tour of SLO. We often struggle to find locations that meet my vegan needs and the carnivore needs of the rest of the family. However, Bug Sky was the effect fit for us. To begin we split the sampler plate where I enjoyed the hummus, olives and chickpeas while the others enjoyed the cheese balls and crab cake. I had the vegan paella for my entree which was huge and so delicious. I took half to go and it was equally enjoyable as leftovers the next day. My son really enjoyed his seafood noodle soup and my wife loved the full on paella. I washed my dinner down with an excellent local brew. There was a huge beer and local wine list. Also a great atmosphere, particularly with the front of the restaurant fully opening to the street. A great place and well priced too!!
