All of our cakes, soups, salads and savoury snacks are made on the premises by our team. We even make our own jams and chutneys! We take the time to prepare our food freshly to order in our open kitchen. When it arrives you will have a generous portion of
We passed this place on the way to Bath and called in for lunch. So glad we did - they have an excellent vegetarian menu with freshly cooked meals made from locally sourced products, the staff are so cheerful and welcoming and the atmosphere is great. The veggie breakfast was divine. You can relax in comfy sofas or or sit at tables and browse the books. It's lovely to be able to eat good food in such a friendly place.
They never run any of the Costa promotions that are always being emailed to customers! Always out of toast also!

We have a delightful and attractive farm shop and cafe situated in the picturesque Duchy of Cornwall village of Newton St Loe. Our business has developed around our home produced beef, lamb and pork, all of which are on sale in our shop and cafe. We are a
Popped in for 2 x regular cappuccinos and 1 x millionaire shortbread - paid £9.05! A nice place and no other issues, but the pricing seems overly top-end. I was considering a bacon sarnie, but at £5.50 decided to pass. Weâll only visit here intermittently at best...Thank you for your thoughts, however I am surprised to read that you think we are expensive. We have to charge enough to stay in business and to pay for the very best ingredients as that is one of our fundamental principles. In your case, the very best coffee, ethically grown and imported, roasted and ground in Bristol, and local, organic Jersey, non-homogenised milk from a small family dairy herd recently prized for turning their cows out to grass more than any other in the South West. The Millionaire shortbread is made here on site by hand, and as I am sure you are aware takes a very long time to make, being in 3 stages. As it is home made we can ensure again that only the best ingredients are used and definitely no palm oil as in most manufactured copycats. In fact locally i have struggled to find many others even making this by hand and on site as we do.On top of the best ingredients we of course have all the overheads that have this year gone up substantially, such as labour, pensions, electricity, maintenance, repairs, water, cleaning, rent and rates. Not surprisingly however, when we check amongst other similar independents in this area, we are charging very similar prices, and in some cases less.We really hope that you do visit us again at some point and thank you for putting your thoughts on this forum and enabling me to put the business owner's point of view.

This lovely cafe is a little gem in the busy High Street. The staff are always friendly, service impeccable and the cafe is very clean. Delicious breakfast menu, light lunches and wonderful cakes, with a varied selection of teas and coffees. What more could anyone ask for? The perfect place to meet friends for coffee, or have a meal on your own. I love this place!

Myself & my Uncle stopped here for a breather whilst cycling from Frome to Bath.Initially, we only wanted a quick coffee but we were seduced by the cakes. My Uncle had what was in effect a giant Jaffa Cake whilst I had the Chocolate & Mint Sponge. Both would be on the rostrum at the Cake Olympics. You can even sit outside and watch the river babbling beneath you.If you are ever in Radstock - and why wouldn't you be, make sure that you come here.

The award-winning Mells Cafe is attached to the village shop and was opened by Great British Bake Off star Mary Berry at Easter 2011 and became an immediate success, serving freshly-cooked food to local residents, visitors, walkers and cyclists , 7 days a
It was someones front room (or seemed like it). Limited seating. Run by volunteers. But the decor and service and food quality was great. Very friendly.Thank you for the kind words. Our volunteers are always delighted to read that their free time has been well spent! The room was actually purpose built in 2010/11 as an extension to the shop so we could serve coffee, tea and cakes. A small kitchen was quickly added when we realized that their was enough demand for a proper cafe. It was designed to look like it had been there for centuries and has won some awards. Please come again.

Myself and my husband stopped for brunch after visiting family in the local area and we were not disappointed! The service was amazing and the food and drink was second to none. I totally loved the shop and will be visiting again when back in the area. The fact that it is family run adds to the charm. I will be recommending to family and friends for sure.

We recently had the opportunity to engage the Holy Cow to cater a garden party for 35 people. Amongst other items, our requests including hors dâoeuvres, sandwiches, cake, pudding and cheese, all served by the staff throughout the afternoon. The whole experience was superb. Every single item of food was absolutely delicious and looked as exquisite as it tasted. The Holy Cow staff were delightful and attentive, ensuring no one was waiting for anything and the preparation and serving area was left clean, neat and tidy - absolute bliss! We wanted a party where we didnât have to lift a finger and they absolutely delivered.
