Traditional Tea Room
We called in for coffee on arriving in Arundel and were made to feel so welcome that we decided to go back later in the afternoon for the full afternoon tea experience. We had salmon and cream cheese sandwiches as well as egg mayo followed by very large scones (plain for me and fruit for my husband) all washed down with a plentiful pot of tea. This was £9.50 for each and if we had had room we could have had a slice of one of the delicious looking cakes available for an extra £1.50 each. They also sell a few cards and craft items and were doing a roaring trade of their ice-creams which had some interesting flavours. The lady in charge was really lovely and told us a little about the festival which was taking place and what else we should see apart from the castle.

The Old Workshop Cafe - Specialist repair work to this 16th century barn has resulted in a really attractive café and exhibition space. The main barn and outside area are dog friendly and the café space itself is cosy and warm. Accompanying the café is an
We was recommended The Old Workshop at Sullington Manor, that we decided to look for ourselves as we were in the area. We found the art gallery with the cafe down the metal staircase. Opened Thursday, Friday and Saturday when the art gallery is open. At the cosy little cafe we shared the cheese platter, followed by the butternut squash soup each and then shared a slice of coffee cake. The food was excellent and would call again. The art gallery had some interesting exhibits. A lovely cafe along side an art gallery. So pleased that you enjoyed your visit. The art exhibition is now over and the cafe will be next open on 15 - 17th November, 10am - 3pm. Please do check our own website for winter opening times. Thank you so much for a lovely review, it is really appreciated.

Welcome and thank you for visiting the Motte & Bailey Cafe Trip Advisor page. Motte & Bailey Cafe is a traditional Cafe nestled in the heart of beautiful, historic Arundel. We open at 8.30am every day (except Sunday when we open at 9am) to make and serve
A lunchtime rush promised much yet delivered very little: a brief half an hour was spent in the cafe yet despondency amongst staff left customers feeling like an inconvenience. Requests for condiments were met with barely concealed irritation. The meals were adequate at best but there was disparity between the price of the food and what was delivered. Having ordered a dairy-free drink due to a lactose intolerance, a regular dairy drink was delivered. On querying the origins of the milk, staff bizarrely asked whether the lactose-intolerant customer would like to finish the drink. A further request for separate bills was met with clenched teeth and a barely concealed sigh. This constant neediness simply added a further dreary layer of tedium to the apparently already bored staffâs troublesome shift from hell. Apologies for inconveniencing you all.

If youâre lucky enough to get a table in these tea rooms then I donât think youâll be disappointed. Beautifully fresh sandwiches, jacket potatoes and enormous scones both sweet and savoury as well as cakes. If you want âteaâ you may have to book itâs that popular.

Had breakfast here two mornings on the trot while staying in the town. Much better prices than hotels very close by and in my opinion you couldnât get a better breakfast. Small English breakfast that didnât seem too small to me. Friendly staff in a nice atmosphere located in the middle of town. I would definitely recommend eating here.

We were really looked forward to visiting this tearoom. The view is fabulous but, oh dear, the wait for our food was totally unacceptable. It was not busy - 4 or 5 tables had customers - but we waited 45 minutes for a scone and an afternoon tea. Trouble was our drinks were brought a few minutes after ordering but the coffee was stone cold by the time we were served out food. When I pointed this out, the waiter only apologised - did not offer to replace our drinks. My scone was excellent but my daughter's afternoon tea was very sparse - a few finger sandwiches of mainly cheese, cheese and cucumber, or cucumber and a few mini cakes and I mean mini. Again her scone was excellent though. Will we go again? No I don't think so when there are so many better places nearby. Shame. The views are super and the staff are very friendly and attentive. But the wait for food is silly.I'm sorry you were disappointed, we did warn every customer that there was a wait over lunchtime which gave you the choice to stay or leave - you chose to stay. We also replaced any drinks that came with our cream teas.I'm not sure where you sat but we were full all day, so "4 or 5 tables had customers" is simply not true. All Riverside Cream Teas have 8 finger sandwiches: smoked salmon, cucumber, cheese & pickle and egg sandwiches - I double-checked with our kitchen and they certainly did not sent out the sandwiches you are describing, they also come with mini cakes as specified on the menu, it is such a big tea that a lot of people end up taking the cakes home!

The Jungle Tea Room is a vibrant new venture set on the grounds of Big Plant Nursery. We offer breakfasts, lunches, sandwhiches, cakes and teas/coffees - all home made. You can sit in our tea room or outside amongst the beautiful plants and we can even pr
This is a fabulous and secluded place for a drink and or snack.Hidden in the West Sussex countryside although easy to locate with Google Maps and within a very good garden and plant retailer. The coffee is by Kendricks, which is a local supplier and the staff are well trained getting the best flavour delivered in the cup.You can sit inside or outside and it almost feels like a jungle amongst all the trees and shrubs for sale. Not tried their food yet but the cakes and scones look delicious.A brilliant surprise location for you and your family and friends.

Driving my disabled Father back from Hospital the other week, he really fancied a cooked breakfast from one of his favourite Café haunts. We were able to phone ahead from Chichester and collect a delicious Corn Store, Full Breakfast, and head on home. Packaged wonderfully, brought out of the kitchen as I walked in, could not have been easier. This is almost definitely going to become a regular thing!

We cannot say enough great things about Joannaâs. We had our wedding reception there and the food, service, venue were OUTSTANDING. Jo, Luca and their wonderful team could not do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. If youâre thinking of using this venue for any function you WILL NOT be disappointed. Wonderful...just wonderful â¥ï¸
