We used to visit here a lot and ended up avoiding the place as the wait for food (breakfast early) was always ages but this last 6 months the service has improved vastly. Food is delivered quickly, with a friendly smile and I am made to feel welcome. Well cooked and fairly priced I recommend this cafe. They also do lovely cheese scones.

Good old fashioned cafe, excellent fresh cooked food, reasonably priced, served quickly,my only criticism, although the locals got a cheery happy friendly welcome, sadly, I didn't feel this, without any words of welcome the waitress stood over us with her notepad the moment we sat down, we barely looked at the menu, when the food was brought to the table, it was dropped in front of us with barely a word, my wife felt most unwelcome and went outside leaving me to pay. Shame really, we loved the food, it was amazing, but we won't go back, well go where we feel we're wanted.

Whilst doing Laundry at Helston walked up narrow street and Stumbled across this smallish Coffee Shop. Serves a selection of home cooked meals from MENU, from Roast Dinners, Scones & Jam, too numerous to mention, along with usual drinks tea/coffee etc. Meals of generous size. Price not expensive.

The first thing to say about Helston, is that its not that big, but packed full of tourist-focused eatery's. This unfortunately includes the chains, but avoid those and find something local - like Helly's.As opposed to Ruth's bakery which is further up the hill and on the opposite side of the road, Helly's is the modern art cafe done with real Cornwall style. These two outlets are focusing on different parts of the market, and both are great local eattery's - avoid the chains, as there are good local options!Helly's is modern, light, bright decor done with originality, helped on our visit by the still in the east spring morning sunshine. Staff are very friendly, and there is a good choice of seating with table service. The cornish seaside decor is assisted by the art works hung around the walls, which offer you the opportunity to buy at accessible and options above pricing some locally sourced artworks. They clearly do not accept everything, just items of quaity which fit in with the tearoom's overall decor.Coffee is great, and service is with a smile. This isn't bakery, but our light bites - sandwiches, cake - were of good locally sourced quality.Avoid the chain's and find something local and real - Helly's is for those who like light, modern art cafes, with a distinct cornish flavour.

Serving simple, honest food, made with the best ingredients, CAST Cafe is a bright and airy space set within the historic CAST building in Helston - formerly a school, now run as an artists' studios complex and contemporary art hub.
Following a friend's recemmendation, I called here for lunch on a bitterly cold day.On entering the cafe, I was impressed by how light, airy and warm it was, with a log burning stove providing welcome heat, and tables well set out with plenty of room between them. A blackboard behind the counter displayed the day's selection of seasonal lunches. Although there were only three choices of main course, they all looked appetising. I chose the chicken and leek pie, with carrot and beetroot saled, which came with a mint based dressing. This made for a delicious combination, of flavours, but left room fo me to indulge in a dessert. For this, I chose apple crumble with Roskilly's ice cream, which was also very tasty. I rounded my meal off with a pot of tea. The service was very good and the ambience of the cafe made this a very enjoyable experience. I was pleased to see that dogs are welcomed here and I look forward to returning with my family and our dog.Apologies for the slow response, but thank you for your positive feedback, and very glad you enjoyed the experience with us! Look forward to seeing you again.

The Garden Kitchen Cafe is set in the wonderful, tranquil surroundings of the garden centre site, amongst the flora and fauna. What more could you ask for whilst enjoying a coffee or a bite to eat? Cosy up in the café by the wood-burner on a cold day or s
Our friends, who live locally recommend this and booked a table. This is a necessary task, especially on Sundays.Food was piping hot , served prompty and was in generous portions. It was a bit odd to get a huge doorstep of bread with Cottage pie and sald with fish and chips is remarkable but odd.So be it, good food here
