We have had numerous lunches, coffees and muffins at Harrisonâs cafe and has always been of an excellent standard. The staff are friendly, efficient and make excellent coffee. Great setting under the trees with views of the mountains and plants from the garden centre. Would highly recommend.

I have been bitterly disappointed by going out for brunch lately. But this place is a little gem and I think a great place to stop if heading north or visiting Horowhenua. Table service which barely any cafe in my home town of Nelson can get a grip on, the concept of seasoning and also not a hard poached egg in sight. But the jewel in the crown was the menu has black pudding on it! Other cafes take note because this is how you do it. You don't need to be fancy just get the basics right.

Homemade treats are on sale in this quaint old church-the original Methodist place of worship in the area. We enjoyed our afternoon tea there. Also a gift shop with some local craft and tubes of Manuka Magic on sale. Open only Thursday to Monday 10-4.30 and worth stopping by.Look for the spire!

Cafe Te Horo is a lovely country-style cafe in the heart of the Kapiti Coast. Located in the quaint Hyde Park village, the cafe is open 7 days a week and offers Havana coffee, fresh home-made food and a welcoming atmosphere. We are also open for casual di

On the recommendation of friends, I visited Apple Quarters Café for lunch with my wife while in the area for the Kapiti Arts Trail and was pleased I did. The staff were friendly and professional and my lunch was well presented and tasted great. Similarly, my flat white was great. The café had a very good range of cabinet and menu food available. It was a fine sunny day so we sat outside. A really nice visit with plenty of car parking.

We drove past this cafe and stopped for lunch. Food was good, but the service was even better. Staff are very polite and attentive and made sure you're looked after. We dealt with 3 different staff and the experience was the same overall. Definitely be back.

Come on in for our daily changing menu, made from local produce and the best coffee on the Kapiti Coast. Open Mon - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm, Sat 8am - 1pm. IN THE HEART OF OTAKI, WHERE THE FISH SWIM, THE MARKET GARDENS GROW, AND THE HILLS ARE ALIVE WITH WILD
Visited again with my wife for brunch. I remarked to her during the meal that the breakfast food was the best quality and prepared than any other cafe we have visited on the coast. I had poached eggs on grain toast, mushrooms and black pudding.YUM!You might ask how can there be much difference in that? You tell me! It just is! And thatâs why we have been back several times.A few smaller tables and chairs might be helpful in the future to provide more intimacy and privacy for couples etc. Also, because of the high roofed building and type of construction, there seems to be an issue currently with heating or cooling, whichever is needed. Thanks for your kind review Arthur! We pride ourselves on having the best food and coffee so it's great to hear that it was up to standard. We have extra extraction fans as of today and the heaters we had fitted last winter are more than enough to keep the place toasty so hopefully, that will make things more comfortable for future visits. We are looking at more tables, however, due to the way our space is used mon-fri and the majority of the time we have groups of 4+, its not so easy to fit them in. It is definitely on our radar so watch this space. Let us know if there is anything else that would make your trips to Gorge a 5* experience as we do take customer feedback seriously and hope everybody has a 5* visit.Look forward to seeing you again soon,The Gorge Team.

Stopped here for late lunch. Wish I had read reviews before stopping as I wouldnât have bothered. One of the worst scones I have ever had. Dry doughy and rubbery. Partner had pork belly which tasted like fatty sweet and sour pork. Not pleasantly memorable. Went and got subway.

great place to stop on your way though everything from the staff to the food and the garden setting is worth it, we stopped for breakfast because the café we were going to was closed and we are glad we did will be back with out a doubt. lovely garden out the back you can sit in and enjoy when eating your food

A good selection of food and good coffee. All from a converted 1950s (?) bus!But the new (recently changed) location, while slightly out in the middle-of-nowhere, is a vast improvement and superb large space with a large choice of seating arrangements, both indoor and outside.People can spread out, there are family tables, group settings, and plenty of space for the kids (as long as they respect others). The turn-off to the road leading to the Bus Stop is not signposted, but it's the only road off to the right as you enter the Te Horo Beach settlement. Then about 500m down that road. Again, the entry to the cafe and ample carpark is not immediately visible, but you will not miss it on the left.
