First (and last) visit to Merlins since new owners took over.Cannot comment on the food as we did not stay for any due to the presence of dogs.I really do not understand the owners obsession with these animals as in my view they should not be present in any establishment that serves food.

From door stop toast to a full English for breakfast to a great selection of lunches and Afternoon tea. We use only the finest, freshest ingredients and wherever possible are locally sourced. Our meat is purchased from Scotts, a local Ormskirk butcher and
A good selection on menu, plenty of choice.Prices are quite competitive compared to some afternoon teas in the area.Arrived over an hour before closing so not much selection of cakes left.£10.85 for afternoon tea.Soup was served in a cup which is different and although we ordered cold drinks we didnât get asked if we wanted tea or coffee which is part off the afternoon tea.Overall it was okThank you for taking the time to write the review and for the constructive feedback. Iâm sorry we where just ok as we strive to always be excellent. I donât know why you werenât offered a hot drink as this is standard practise and as you say, itâs included in the price. As you point out, there wasnât much choice of cakes but it is all homemade and therefore when itâs gone itâs gone. Once again thank you and I owe you tea or coffee for two, so just show this message to the team if Iâm not there and they will sort it for you. Jill

Cosy relaxed and friendly Coffee House / restaurant with an excellent range of food and drinks including main meals, snacks, breakfasts, alcoholic drinks and afternoon teas. Attentive service with an excellent ambience.
Came here as we heard they sell mr Thompson's bakery cakes . We were mot disappointed the day we visited they had the oreo cake, two cips of tea and two slices of cake later we were a couple of happy visitors.Thank you for taking the time to review us. We do indeed have the occasional cake from Mr Thompson but the majority of our cakes are homemade within Bramleys. We make all our small cakes, scones, brownies and the majority remainder of our large cakes are baked by us too. Iâm glad you enjoyed your cake trip to Bramleys and we look forward to seeing you in the future to sample more of our cake selection.

Visited with a friend, the service was friendly and efficient and the surroundings cosy. My friend had the full English breakfast which she said was excellent, and I loved the veggie breakfast, especially the authentic spices of the veggie black pudding which Iâd never had before. Great tasting toast too!

This has to be the worst family lunch I have been part of, wrong orders brought to the table, overcooked food, beefburger ordered by my grandson cheese burger arrived they said they would provide another one which was remarkable as we were informed they only had one in stock, I could go on but whats the point as we are not going back.On this experience a totally overrated place.I felt sorry for the staff as they were very polite and charming.

Family run tea-room Est. 2011 Dogs always welcome for treats and cuddles Breakfast, lunches, cakes, scones, specialist tea & coffee and more...
I visited Burscough Wharf initially to attend a vegan fair and try some vegan street food, however after shopping at the fair, we ended up in Rose Tree Tea Rooms instead! Very twee, old fashioned tea rooms, with vintage crockery, lovely decor and friendly staff. We ordered jacket potatoes with our various choice of fillings and we also ordered scones and hot drinks. I was pleased to note that I could have vegan choices, but best of all was the vegan scone. Probably the biggest scone Iâve ever had! Definitely a place I will revisit in the next few months. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review - we are so pleased you enjoyed our vegan options and we hope to see you again soon xxxx

Our bagels are hand made onsite fresh every day. We offer various fillings including smoked salmon and cream cheese and the very popular hot salt beef which is boiled for 5 hours with herbs and spices. We have a range of fillings available with some vegan
Out with friends for a Friday afternoon of fun in Ormskirk & feeling peckish. The Bagel Deli caught my eye and after a quick "sense check" on Trip Advisor, realised this place came highly rated.I chose a salt beef bagel & it didn`t disappoint.Plenty of moist, sliced salt beef on a plain bagel with gerkin & English mustard. Delicious.£3.99 (plus a little extra for the pickle) offered good value for a late lunch time treat. The homemade cakes looked wonderful, though I resisted temptation on this occasion.Service was friendly, personable & efficient. My first visit, but it won`t be my last. It`s very central, on Moor Street - a few yards from the clock tower.Well worth a try if you are in town. Recommended.
