Things to do in Murwillumbah
I was attracted into this little esoteric cafe, (wee bit hard too find) behind a garden center, by the alluring $6 "pumpkin scone Denonshire tea". The scone was delicious but the "cream" was of the compressed airbottle variety which I do not class as the real deal. Still the setting is restful, the limited range of food on offer inexpensive and the soundtrack being played just the right beat. Pleasant place to while away some time relaxing.
At Café 81 we offer family-friendly dining in a casual & relaxed atmosphere. The perfect place to relax with a hot or cold drink or a bite to eat from the budget-friendly menu. Kids of all ages enjoy playing in our newly added kid's area, while Mum & Dad

A cousin escorted us to this off-street cafe for morning tea. The unit has been so-named because the walls are flooded with photographs and memorabilia of the NRL team St George/Illawarra commonly known as the Dragons. I was reluctant to mention I was a North Queensland Cowboys supporter but the staff were so nice and friendly I decided to held my peace. My wife and I both selected crepes with banana and a caramel sauce coupled a very nice cup of coffee. We struggled to eat the food so that morning tea became lunch. It was obviously popular with local people with a group of 8 ladies at a single table enjoying the day out and the tables were all taken well before lunch. Visitors to Murwillumbah should visit to receive a friendly welcome and some very nice food.

I've driven past Show n Shine Deli Cafe many times and today I decided to stop for a peek. The cafe is attached to a petrol station/mechanic shop. It's different from the traditional Australian roadhouse. Out the front is a solid timber bar to stand at and cafe table and chairs. Inside is packed to the rafters with an assortment of chutneys, jams, muesli, oils, vinegars, pestos, an extensive range of deli lines, freshly made sandwiches, homemade slices, biscuits and cakes. The draw card is the large variety of pies, sausage rolls and sourdough breads. We sat inside and ordered a Moroccan pie and lemon passionfruit slice, flat white and piccolo coffee. All Very tasty. Service is friendly and relaxed. I love buying condiments for myself and as gifts. Nothing was priced which is a pet hate of mine. Every person who walked in asked what type of pies do you have. A board would resolve this issue. With a little bit more organisation and signage exposure would definitely make this cafe even more busy. If you love pies, sausage rolls, custard tarts and good coffee then this is the cafe for you.

Had lunch there a few weeks ago with my Beloved. Despite being on a (temporary thank goodness!) very restricted diet, I managed to find several things on the menu to tempt. Food arrived in good time, looked very appealing on the plate and taste lived up to appearance. Staff very happy, friendly and efficient. All in all, one of the better places to enjoy a meal in Murwillumbah and will definitely return once I can enjoy a broader selection - including those very yummy looking cakes!

We popped in here for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. They only had a relatively small menu but it was an interesting one and the food was fresh, tasty and it looked fantastic. Worth a visit.
