This is a Portland classic. Located in an old neighborhood pharmacy, Zells has been cranking out wonderful food for years. Expect a wait on Saturday and Sunday, but, as locals, we knew we could stroll right in at 10am on a weekday. Perfect hang town fry, perfect salmon and (wonderful) veggies. Free scones. The server was friendly. Check out the chalkboard for the specials. Good coffee. We would go here more but the wait, though worth it, is a bit much. A+

Stopped here for breakfast on a girls trip to Portland. It was about 9:30 am on a weekday.Extremely cute place, complete with a coffee bar, mimosas, blood maryâs, and the list goes on. Had several tables opened right away, but not cleared. We were the only ones waiting and it took about 5-10 minutes to get seated.Once seated it took a good 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee. Once we received our coffee, our waitress took our order and we began to get regular attention and coffee refills.Food looked amazing coming out of the kitchen. Iâm watching carbs. My eggs scramble with veggies and fruit was fresh and hearty. One of the women I was with ordered an omelet and she said it arrived cold. Didnât want to say anything as she didnât know how long it would take to remedy the problem. The other woman with us had chicken and waffles and it looked amazing.I think everyone - these days - are short of help. I sat and counted and the place probably seats close to 50 or 60 and I think I saw a total of four wait staff. By the time we left, the lunch rush was coming in and all the tables were full. Bottom line - food was good, but a bit of a wait.

A locally owned French bistro and bakery specializing in hearty breakfast and lunches, finer bistro dinners, and a full-bar with draft beer. Our bakery counter is stocked with grab-and-go French bread, pastries, and delicious cakes.
Met two friends here Monday morning for breakfast. Great ambiance, location, and interior. Menu is wonderfully varied and has many breakfast selections beyond the standard eggs, omelettes, etc. Also Seasonal Specials menu. Food was great. I ordered the Wild Northwest Salmon Hash. Delicious but the hash browns were overly salty. Our server was perfunctory and a bit sharp, but she took good care of us.

I first ate here 50 years ago. And Itâs been 16 years since my last bite of pancake. Iâm ecstatic the quality of food and service remains. They are Consistent in every respect. Delicious, unbeatable taste. Ursa & Reagan were most friendly & personable hostesses who welcomed & seated us. And Asia was a delight as our server taking care of our every need. We splurged on buying the souvenir coffee cups to take home- but $18.00 each is steep. The fond memory & the âtasteâ of one of our favorite restaurants will stay with us for a long time.

Came here with my wife for my birthday brunch at 10:30 on a Tuesday morning. Place was packed, but we found open seating at the bar. Probably the most Portland place Iâve ever been. More tattoos & beards per square foot than anywhere else in town. Everyone working was very nice & chill & service was quick. I had a Bloody Mary with the candied bacon & my wife had a blood orange mimosa, both were great. She ordered the Spicoli scramble & I had Brianâs hash, which was pretty good, but could have had more sausage in it & Iâm not the biggest fan of the frozen shredded hash browns. Will definitely be back & try something different.

We walked to this small neighborhood restaurant after a local friend recommended it. It is great. Seating for perhaps 25 people. Famous crepes, but we brunched on soup and salad, but had an eclair-type crepe for dessert (my favorite). Nice decor, and great pastries to eat there or take out. Limited on-street parking; walk if possible. Friendly, fast service. Open only Thursday through Sunday from about 10:00-3:00 for breakfast and brunch.

I had something involving eggs with smoked trout and it was absolutely amazing. Really well balanced ingredients which were very well cooked. Lovely little bits of fried potato and beetroot were involved as well. Would highly recommend stopping here for breakfast.

Business Hours: M-F 7:00am to 2:00pm Sat. And Sun. 8:00Am to 2:30pm.
Busy place and as "seasoned travelers" we try to avoid the big chains etc. Busy little place, really friendly mainly used by locals. Open kitchen so you can see what's cooking. Corned beef hash was good, eggs Benedict good. Would recommend this is you want a good breakfast to last you the whole day

We are a family owned and operated restaurant who takes great pride in serving homemade "Gramma Style" meals with high quality ingredients. We took ownership of this business in January of 2018. Any previous information is unrelated.
Small and cramped space, traditional American comfort food menu, friendly service, reasonable prices. Good place for a substantial breakfast that will stick with you for a while.

Went here numerous times over a 2-week period that I was in the area for work. Enjoyed their breakfast burrito as well as their lighter egg fares. Even hit them up once for lunch. Price was right, the service was fast and the people were friendly. Easy parking too.Thank you for the incredible review. We're so happy you stopped by! Can't wait to see you again soon!
