Bringing Back An Iconic Venice Restaurant | Est. â79 Chef Jason Neroni Highlights Local Southern California Cuisine With An International Influence From His World Travels.
Good food but vastly overpriced.. for some reason it seems alright to charge high prices for "small plates" "tapas portions" and other such hip titles for small servings at outrageous prices. Even though each dish was flavorful, and presented nicely as well as quickly - the tab for what would be considered simply "good" became so extravagant, that it cannot ever be repeated. Unless you're printing cash, which we are not, $100 per person is an overpriced amount to spend for just a "good" meal. We will not be returning.

This place is hands down my favorite restaurant in Culver City. The seared ahi with pea hummus is such a fantastic mix of flavors I can't get enough. The homemade pastas by themselves or with the meat dishes are fantastic. Service is always fantastic and they make you feel like home. Please support this fantastic small business.

Wandered along Pacific on my way to Venice Beach and found this great place. It was busy, but had an easy, laid-back vibe. Great coffee, freshly squeezed orange and my first âbreakfast burritoâ! I enjoyed a good seat and had a great chance to people watch. Staff friendly and cheerful, happy crowd. A great find and made my morning!

I love this place, this family and the delicious food they make! I had the amazing mortadella sandwich and a beautiful Cafe Latte on my visit. I'm still thinking about that sandwich and the coffee. I'm living in Saõ Paulo, Brazil, where the Mortadella sandwich at the Mercado Municipal is rather iconic, and dang it is superb...but Amelia's is better. The balance is right and the insides are all put in the right place. Hugs and Kisses from Brazil! See you all next visit!!

I had this Kalewich sandwich for breakfast one morning. I got it to try a squid ink bread, something different i said. Well,i was expecting a bun with a little bit of saltiness like a taste of seafood...none! The sandwich has sautéed kale leaves,it needed to be chopped in smaller pieces because it ended up tough and stringy when i bite into the sandwich, came with mediums cooked sunny side egg and bacon . I find the sandwich tasteless, the bacon gave it a bit of flavor (but i dont like bacon so...). For $13.95 it came with a side (i chose crispy hash browns). My husband got a simple scrambled eggs that came with 2 sides,he chose sourdough toast and Tots (which he said taste good),for $9.95. Well youâre dining in the Marina area, prices of food a bit high but what i liked was the many choices of food in their menu, they serve lunch and dinner too all day. The small organic coffee was good but no refills. You have to come earlier than 8:00 am to get a seat and the waiters were friendly .They have patio seatings too.

While I love the dinner restaurant, Killer Shrimp, the Killer Cafe is, well, not so killer. I had breakfast with a couple of friends, and was not impressed, with either food or service. I had the Shrimp & Grits and the Biscuits & Gravy. First of all, it took a while to get service, and then it took a while to get our food. We had no salt & pepper on our table, so we eventually had to ask the table next to us if we borrow theirs. I had ordered coffee, they never brought the cream, I eventually had to get up and go ask a waiter for cream. I was excited about the Shrimp & Grits, but I should know better than to order then anywhere out of the south- but I figured I'd give it a try. First of all, the grits were flavorless, and even worse- LUMPY. They had obviously been sitting there for a while. And the shrimp? Flavorless as well. Sad considering it's their signature dish. The biscuits and gravy were no better, 2 hard biscuits with some thin gravy drizzled over them. The only thing I had that was actually really good was the hash browns. I think if you keep is simple and have breakfast items, you will be okay, but other than that, I would give the Killer Cafe a miss...

I took a chance today eating at this vegan restaurant today. I was NOT disappointed. Since I generally cook 90% of my meals, I was skeptical about eating out. I had the "Sharing" nachos - this is what they are called on the menu. They were terrific. With respect to service, I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted so wholeheartedly at this "white" establishment. My experience at Santa Monica and Venice Beach restaurants have not always been so welcoming. It felt good to be treated with respect as a customer instead of brush off as a color. My server was Melissa and although she was busy, she was attentive. I highly recommend Cafe Gratitude. Thanks Melissa for the question of the day and the good-bye note ("You are blessed.").

Great funky breakfast with reasonable prices. Even with an Uber there and back, we saved over $40 in breakfast from eating in Santa Monica. Limited seating, order at the counter, and they bring you your items when complete. The açaà bowls, bagel and croissant sammies were excellent.
