Restaurant at Hjelle Hotel and Motel. Fire-place. Open in the summer season.
Restaurant was highly recommended by personal friends, now also by me. Great foods, starter, main course and dessert. Friendly staff.

The Old Shop in Hjelle is a cafe selling baguettes and cakes with a beautiful view over the lake and snow-capped mountains. We also sell local art and crafts and English china.
We took the basic room. The location is outstanding, so peaceful. The room opens directly to the lake. Room is small bathroom is basic but clean. Good mattress, beddings, towels. Dinner was gourmet food beautifully served. Breakfast was very nice. Dinning room overlooks the lake. Owner is very nice helpful and welcoming.

We called in around lunchtime on a day when a cruise ship was docked a couple of hundred metres away so we were expecting a queue. That said the staff worked hard and it took us only 5 minutes to be served. We had 2 coffees and 2 cakes which were pleasant. The place was clean and had seating both inside and out, although the weather didnât lend itself to sitting outside on our visit. The cost was reasonable (for Norway) at about £14.00. We would gladly return.

The café offers a good selection of homemade food, and dining with all rights. We bake our own cakes and other local traditional baked goods . The cafe is a natural meeting place in the village, both summer and winter. Summer is high season and then we ho
Lovely spot to have a good homemade dinner and a potent beer (unlike most other restaurants in Norway that offer weak beers, this Cafe had in stock good beer), the deer burger and the cod were great! And the owner was very friendly and helpful. Would go there again!
Restaurant at Stryn Hotel in centre of Stryn. Restaurant and loungescapasity Strynehallen - banquetthall: 150 persons Restaurant Gulkoppen: 120 persons Dance restaurant: 270 persons Scala Dancing: 200 persons Lounges/bar/lobbybar: 150 persons
Unable to review we the quality of the restaurant as it was closed for renovations. When we made the booking we were not told that the restaurant was closed. Unfortunately, in Stryn there are only about 3 other cafés Which only sell fast food. Had to but from the supermarket and try and make our own. This was hard as there are no facilities in the hotel rooms.

Stayed at the Alexandra on an escorted bus tour (Globus). Ate an excellent buffet dinner and buffet breakfast in the restaurant. If the quality of the buffet is any indication of the quality of the menu for those dining ... it'll be a great experience !

Delightful little establishment serving the local Olden brew. Great hot chocolate too and service with a smile. Lovely friendly service and cosy interior. Not a huge choice of food, but this didnât really matter to us as we were quite content to sit on the balcony and revel in the breath-taking scenery-food could wait!

Our boat brought us to this charming Norwegian cafe where they had prepared waffles, sour cream and berries! All I can say was so very delicious! The staff were organized and polite. The food was good and they had a nice little store there as well. You can rent boats or just sit and admire the fantastic view of Lake Loen and the glacier. A real treasure.

Who knew little Stryn would have such a fun restaurant! Lots of veggie options available (inevitably Italian but apparently really good). The burger was excellent. There's local beer. It's filled with locals or people from nearby. What's not to like.
