Sitting in a valley in the Andes Mountains, La Paz is the city that touches the clouds. The de facto capital of Bolivia, and sitting between 3300 and 4100 meters above sea level, La Paz is the highest capital city in the world. Rich with 19th century churches, museums of artifacts from the pre-Conquest era, precarious overlooks, and colorful markets, La Paz is truly unique. The Witches’ Market, in the center of the city, sells charms and potions for Aymara rituals, as well as souvenirs.

Vegetarian salad and juice bar!
I am celiac and was very happy to find this place. All gluten free dishes are marked on the menu so it was really easy for me. They even have gluten free bread! I had panini and quinoa risotto and my sister tried two different soups and we liked all of it. They also have many vegan options. We would recommend it.

Ciclik is very conveniently located and offers a good variety of cakes and such. It also offers table service sandwiches are reasonable but not great, but the staff believes that they have the best food in town, which is clearly untrue. This belief sadly makes it impossible to get them to understand the things they could do better. The upside is that food gets to you relatively fast. There are far better places close by for roughly the same price, so I recommend you skip this one unless you are in a hurry and have no other alternative.

We stumbled upon this little Crepe Cafe, hidden away in a small courtyard, by accident, and it's the best thing that happened to us.The sweet and salty crepes and drinks were delicious. We didn't only receive delicious Crepes, but the very friendly and helpful owner als gave us tipps of things to see in La Paz, how go get around and how much we should be expected to pay for transport etc. We were invited to come back, not only for crepes, but also if we had more questions. We tried coming back for seconds the next evening but unfortunately they were already closed. It was a pleasure to help and give you advices. Sorry for the inconvenience. Have a nice trip!!! thank you for the comment.

Anti-café (also sometimes called a time club or a pay-per-minute café) is a type of a public business that became popular around 2011 in Russia. Anti-café is a place where people meet and spend time, similar to a café or a club, which is possible to rent
I would say, the cafe looks like many in Europe but there are a few places like that in Bolivia. Alpaca wool fibers are used as decoration, looks unusual. Table games, a few books, playing reggae. Breakfast for 25 Bs, you can create your own breakfast / salad / sandwich. I guess, Europeans / Americans would like it. Different types of coffee and tea (more than 10 types), coffee with different alcohol spirits 25 Bs, Juices, smoothies, empanadas, snacks to share. Bolivian craft beers 22-24 Bs and local wines (12Bs glass or 40-65 Bs. for a bottle). It is also convenient for those, who want to kill time because everything is cooked very slowly. I guess, we spent in Chukuta more than 1.5 hours... and everything could have been done in 30 min. Moreover, there were not so many people waiting for their orders.Thank you for you review and being so clear and detailed. We try to make everything as fresh as possible and maybe we took too much time trying this goal. We will improve our food preparation process. Thanks for your opinion.

They need a good review of their menu.. falafels do not originate from âIsraelâ. âIsraelâ doesnât have an actual cuisine. Everyone knows that falafel is Lebanese.. so the fact that their falafel option is called âEl Tel Avivâ just shows that theyâre trying to draw in Israeli travellers, as it seems that the area attracts. Hey MaryE320, You say we need a good review of our menu. If you would have read the text in our menu, maybe you would have understood it better. When we create new dishes, we talk and learn from people from all over the planet and we make the dishes together in our kitchen. Its an amazing part of our job, to cook with people from all over the world! We have never said that falafel originally is from Israel. The idea of the Tel Aviv plate came after a lot of conversations about food with Israelian travelers. What food they miss from home, what flavours they love and what food they prefere to compare with family and friends. After listening to a lot of stories we created the dish together in our kitchen. Thats why it felt natural to call it El Tel Aviv. Without any political or historical reflection. Its a really good plate right?! We are glad you enjoyed it! But are you sure that the falafel really is from Libanon;)Saludos and happy traveling!

Irish owned âThe Carrot Treeâ is the perfect place to relax and enjoy fresh organic all day Brunch, evening meals, locally sourced Jungle Coffee or our famous Bolivian cocktails and juices. We pride ourselves on bringing you the highest standard of fresh
The heaping plate of pesto pasta was over-cooked (as opposed to al-dente), needed a lot of salt (felt like the pasta was not cooked in salted water and lacked flavor) and very oily. But the veggies and chicken in it tasted great. On the plus side, the servers are great and the space cozy and inviting. So overall it was a very average dining experience. Tips: 1) Go hungry as the portions are huge 2) Go to the top floor (not the second floor) for better views of the city.

I went there one day and had some nice scrambled eggs, toasted bread, roasted tomatoes and bacon. This came with a decent sized salad with tomatoes, onions etc. La Paz does not always have particularly good options, so the next day, I came in again and ordered the same thing, however this time I received some slices, uncooked tomatoes on the salad instead of roasted ones. In addition, the eggs were very undercooked and the "toasted bread" was not toasted, so that the bread became sloppy. When I brought this up with the waitress, she seemed annoyed even though this was clear on my plate when I showed her. When I mentioned the tomatoes, she told me that they never cooked them and was annoyed when my companion agreed that they were cooked the previous day and argued further. She took my plate away, and came back with the same plate of food, now with burnt toast, the same eggs now overcooked and lightly fried tomatoes. It was close to inedible. Overall it was a terrible experience and very unprofessional.Hi Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback I am sorry to hear that this was your experience with us.I have spoken with your waitress and she recalls your visit last Sunday.I too am very particular when it comes to scrambled eggs. Scrambled eggs done well is an indication of the skill of a chef, it is one of the ways I select who will cook in our kitchen. Our scrambled eggs are typically creamy light and fluffy some may consider them to be undercooked, I am not say that you are wrong it certainly is possible they could have been on the underside of our standard .. The kitchen made a big mistake to just recook your eggs they should have started again from scratch and made a complete new plate. I have spoken to our head chef he will take this matter up with his cooks. So thank you for your feed back. It help us improve to maintain our high standard. I apologize that you felt our waitress seemed annoyed. She was surprised to hear, she humbly apologies, this typically isn't her character. I have sent you a private message as an invitation to return where I will cook the eggs to the standard many have come to enjoy. Best RegardsMark
