Dropped in for a cup of tea and a late breakfast. The place doesnât look like much from the street, but there is a small, comfortable cafe inside, and a quiet patio with plants, wild birds and a great mountain view over the rooftops. The menu offers an excellent variety of teas and has a fairly broad choice of cuisine, all vegetarian, including some Tibetan choices. There is also a baked goods counter loaded with some very tempting home style baking. I opted for a Chaay Masala and the Farmerâs Breakfast, and I certainly was not disappointed. Both served hot, with fresh ingredients. About INR 200 for breakfast including tea, tax and tip.

Rude unhelpful staff; couldnât be bothered to explain or even give us any condiments as they had already cleared the tables by 8.15pm. We ordered mushroom gnocchi, a ravioli & thupka: thupka was tasteless, gnocchi stodgy & ravioli soggy and totally lacking any flavour. Just not worth eating, couldnât get out of there fast enough! Very disappointed by the whole experience.

We had pizza here last year on a previous visit and I don't recall being overly impressed but this time we tried their pasta dishes and they were much better. We had the pasta puttanesca which I really enjoyed - not TOO big a portion but plenty of flavour and well prepared. We also had the garlic bread with cheese which was more or less cheese on toast (I really didn't spot the garlic) but it was nice. Add two sweet lime sodas and the bill came to 550 rupees for two - very reasonable. Service was well paced. Even though it's only a small place, they seemed to turn the tables over quite effectively so that people were not turned away.

A great place to have speciality coffees and great cuisine ranging from awesome sandwiches to salads to pastas.
This is the most amazing place I've been to in McLeod in a long time. We tried their jumbo sandwich, choco and nutella pancake and the freshly brewed French press coffee. There was nothing that we didn't like. The best thing about this cafe is that everything is freshly made due to which you might have to wait a little but trust me it's all worth it. Just keep one thing in mind, their food is yum & portions are huge - so order accordingly.Must must place to be.

Actually I have been visited this restaurant many times during my different trips to dharamshala. They have all kinds of different food, starting from breakfast till dinner, n their cakes n coffee is superb. Their sitting is also very good. I do recommend for everyone to give it a try.

We have been in Mcleodganj for the last couple of days and have ended up visiting this little surprise package quite a few times.. First of all the food : They mainly serve Tibetan food though the menu options per second wouldn't be very high. The dishes are freshly cooked and it reflects in the taste as well. The dough for noodles and dumplings is also prepared in house which sort of adds to the freshness of the meal. They also use wheat to prepare the dough which is also very interesting. If nothing else, it makes the dish healthier. They mainly operate for a few hours during the day and the joint is frequented by both locals and foreigners. Value for money is good too, a meal for two would cost around 300. Must try would be veg dimsums, thukpa and even the noodles..

This one was on my radar for a long. Had been there earlier to see CLOSED board hanging outside. The restaurant closed by 9pm. So be there in time. Try have a small but beautiful set up of 8-10 tables with 3 of them in balcony facing the valley. The ambience is cozy. There are ample number of books available to read while one sips and eats their delectable food and beverage items.Menu is predominantly Italian. We ordered Ginger lemon honey tea, peach ice tea, illiterati lemonade (punch of fresh mint), Ravioli with mushroom sauce, paprika red bean burger, Saltimbocca ala romana and ended the meal with their home made coffee icecream infused with saffron. All dishes were classic and retained Italian touch.Service was very efficient, staff is very friendly.Indeed a cafe which ticked all the right boxes.Go for it when in Dharamshala or Mcleodganj.

Common Ground Cafe is a social enterprise that serves not only a fusion of authentic Tibetan and Chinese cuisine, but also as a gathering point and events venue for the Dharamsala community. We hope to serve you soon!
The cuisine is authentically local, food portions are good & prices reasonable. We especially loved the toffee bar & the Tibetan teas. The owner also helped us to procure the Tibetan tea bags from the local market. The vibe, the super warm hosts, the food, the view- they all beckoned us for a second visit during our stay & we really hope to come back again soon!

Dreamy little peaceful haven with a great staff and quality food. Prices are fair and the meals are freshly prepared. Very clean and tidy (including the rest room, which is less than expected from places even fancier than this one). Managed to read quite a bit and just totally chill.
