The Square is a friendly village cafe, with a buzzy and relaxed atmosphere. Good sized portions in our breakfasts and Teapig tea made for a lovely start to our day. They offer a variety of breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake options, including gluten free. Dog friendly, child friendly. Recommended.

First time visitor to the Vanilla Pod Café Patisserie loved the deco and layout. A massive selection of pastries and cakes. A lovely warm friendly welcome from the waitress who showed me to my table although I had to ask for a menu. I chose the Pod grill unfortunately when it arrived I wish I had choosen something else. The presentation was not appertising to look at. I could tell the chips had been sat for a long period of time, then refried the colour was quite dark and oily. Inside of the chip was very dry I asked the waiter for a freash portion of chips only to be told âthe chips will look the same thats what they look likeâ a waitress came over to the table and took the chips away. The lamb chops where so dry I couldnât finish them, the chicken was also very dry none of the items on my plate were freashly cooked I would have gladly waited fifteen to twenty minuites for freash food. When the freash batch of chips came I had to use my servette to soak up the access oil but the second batch of chips were edible. There was no apolgy given regarding the chips. The presentation of the Pod grill if cooked correctly and adding a small amount of garnish may have been more apptertising to the eye and palate. the price for the meal was very reasonable (but not at the standard I was severed)I also think it is very unhygienic to keep messing about with your hair (the waiter) when serving food. Also the conversation that two staff members were having was very unproffessional. I always give cafe/restruants another go because it may have been an off day so I will try again next month

A cafe is going to get busy at lunchtimes, deal with it. There is no requirement to be miserable or even reflect that you are when taking other orders. Food was nice, just a shame it was devoid of any pleasantries on this particular day. Sorry to hear this. We pride ourselves on good customer service so I can only apologise and hope we see you again.

Another visit to this lovely pub turned tea room, again for a light lunch. It didn't disappoint. Friendly, welcoming staff and just right food. Veggie breakfast plentiful and the newly-introduced warm falafel salad was a hit - and sizeable! We took our grandchildren there on a previous lunch visit. I think it's the hot chocolate with (lots of) min-marshmallows that they will remember!Gets busy but we booked in advance.

Purveyors of nice food to the (sub)urban masses.
I saw a review of Tin Kitchen on a local blog, what a find! It is located in a residential setting near the High Crest Academy and I would definitely not have found it if not prompted to search it out. Outside there is no sign, inside is bright and cheerful but small with only 5 tables, the 3 ladies were cheerful, efficient and professional. They serve breakfast and lunch with traditional cafetière coffee. I had the French toast and coffee for £9, superb. Definitely worth the trip, I will definitely be back, posh toast for me next time.
