Called with my wife for a couple of coffees, went to the counter to order and were asked to find a table and the order would be taken. Staff walking past, generally not involved with other orders, some writing up a specials board but no order taken so after 5+ minutes asked a passing waitress who would take the order and was asked to go to the counter -m did so, then waited for 2 black coffees then paid at the counter at a cost of £5.40 for both, so neither worth the wait, the confusion or the coffee - be warned about poor service - which is a shame because the place could be much better and is the only reason why it has a score as high as given. Sorry no photos as I just wanted to get away.

Anazao specialises in Traditional Afternoon Teas with choices of freshly made sandwiches, scones, cakes and tray bakes. We have a choice of artisan teas and freshly ground coffee. We have a light bite menu including porridge and toasted teacakes. Our lunc
Visited Anazao with a friend today: Carlisle is "halfway" for us both, and I wanted to try somewhere I hadn't been before. We both love afternoon tea so I contacted the tea room in advance to enquire and book. From initial contact, the staff were so warm and friendly, and couldn't do enough to accommodate us. When we arrived early, we were welcomed so enthusiastically. We got to pick our own sandwich fillings, a huge slice of our favourite cake out of the delicious array on offer, and a drink, as well as a scone. I am vegan (despite rumours to the contrary, we vegans still adore cake!), and have been disappointed in the past by dry and dusty scones (I'm looking at you, Edinburgh Dome...). Anazao's vegan scone was incredible! Soft, fluffy, a real treat. The tearoom itself is gorgeous: clean, pretty and comfortable, with lovely attention to detail. For half the price and double the quality of afternoon tea elsewhere, we had an absolutely wonderful time and had to be rolled out when we were finished! Can't wait to return.Thank you very much for this amazing review! Weâre so glad you enjoyed your visit, it was lovely to meet you and we hope to see you again soon x

We are a local family run city centre cafe who pride ourselves on serving delicious homemade and where possible locally produced food. We are known for our delicious cakes and scones.
My friend and I were recommended Whytes for lunch by the lovely lady in the nearby antiques shop and we werenât disappointed. Lovely fresh homemade food and great service in really pleasant surroundings. Only wish Iâd found it on previous visits to Carlisle!

We've just enjoyed a lovely lunch here. We both had quiche and salad and it had just been made. Very fresh ingredients. Everything on the menu seems homemade(even the ice cream) and very tasty. The service was great, very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Highly recommended.Thankyou so much youâre review is very much appreciated.

We rented a tower near Long Town over Christmas weekend and went into town to get groceries. I remembered seeing this shop on TA and decided to grab fish and chips to take back to our place. It was a really quaint shop and everyone who worked there were extremely helpful and nice! The fish and chips and steak pies were delicious! Would highly recommend visiting this place for take out!!!
A traditional bakers that has a few tables to eat in. The various pies and sandwiches are great value for money. Space is a bit of a premium so not really suited for large groups. on street parking right outside.

The only thing fresh here was the air outside. Actually disgusting 'food' here. Everything seemed to be dry, tasteless and extremely overpriced. If i wanted to eat something like that I would of bought a pack of sandpaper and went to town on it.

Stopped here as didn't want to head towards Carlisle and was perfect for what we wanted, good selection of breakfast and lunch options that aren't fancy but are filling. On street parking available nearby. Service very friendly and helpful. Food was tasty and arrived quickly even though cafe was busy. Accessible ground floor toilet facilities. Would definitely recommend for lunch. I'm not needing GF options but think they had more on the menu than anywhere else I've seen recently! :)

Love popping in to this Costa in Dumfries when travelling as it's always clean and everything you expect from a Costa. Recommended. It's got a drive thru too if you can't wait.

We stopped here for breakfast en route to Scotland and it was everything we hoped it would be. Traditionally Scottish, good food served fairly quickly, child friendly and friendly, helpful staff. Would thoroughly recommend and would definitely stop again if we are in the area.
