Vintage tea rooms serving a selection of teas, cakes, soups, sandwiches and pie of the day, all freshly made. Afternoon tea our speciality (advance booking required). A cosy venue for private functions.
I had a day off and it rained non stop all morning . We didnât want to go too far as travelling would have been horrendous. We changed our plans decided to do jobs in the morning then have lunch out. We chose to come here as itâs not open when Iâm off work. It was so lovely, the decor is fab and like a traditional tea room. We were met with a nice warm welcome. The service was wonderful and friendly and now for the best bit .... the food and drink . Tea was hot and refreshing served in china cups. We shared because we both wanted the same. The Cheese and onion pie served with salad was so tasty and homemade, the tuna sandwiches were fresh and also tasty. The cakes were divine lemon curd sponge was light and fluffy and the ginger nut topped cake was excellent . Thanks for making my wet day off wonderful

Ordered food and drink and both were very good. Service was good. A misunderstanding about payments which was basically our fault was resolved politely.

Visited for lunch, with the cafe being so busy we were lucky to get a table overlooking the river. What a stunning location on a sunny day! Extensive and varied menu to suit all tastes. We were told when ordering that there was a 45 minute wait for food, no surprise there as I mentioned earlier it was very very busy! Food arrived much quicker however. Goats cheese with caramelised onion panini was delicious! Served with a lovely fresh salad. Believe their pies are very popular and it's nice to see them being homemade at a counter just at the side of the till. Would recommend and will return soon.
We had braising steak and mash and cheese and onion pie ... You did not need another meal that day it was very filling and the pudding looked lovely ... They also catered for people who like to sit in the sunLovely place to eat ...

We stopped here for lunch after a canal walk. It is an absolutely superb little cafe, serving a good selection of hearty homemade food. It has a lovely open fire, very welcome on a chilly day. There is also seating outside by the canal for warmer days. The owner and regulars are extremely friendly, had a nice chat with them about our walk!

Set in its own grounds, adjacent to St Bartholomew's Church in the old Lancashire mill town of Great Harwood, stands the iconic period building of Churchfield House. Built in the 1850's it has now been lovingly restored and boasts a fine Tea room on the g
I've been three times now for afternoon tea and each time it has been wonderful. Where do they get their volunteers from? They are absolute gems. Nothing is too much trouble. You can feel their pride in the surroundings and the food. Everything is homemade and absolutely delicious. It's always a total treat and amazing value for money. I want to try their Sunday lunch sometime soon.

The Autisan café is run by the Autism charity within the ground of Whalley Abbey. It has a good and reasonably priced menu but strangely it quotes prices for tea/coffee with a cake but not for tea or coffee on their own; also, the kitchen wasnât open when we visited which made 50% of the menu unavailable. We chose coffee and a buttered scone- the coffee was very weak but the scone, butter and strawberry jam, was excellent. One complaint though, our table was extremely sticky, sadly something I really dislike in any café,Hi BobThank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. Glad you enjoyed your scone, they are a firm customer favorite. The menus for the drinks are in the little boxes on the table (separate from the food menu). We do check that they are replenished when customers remove them but we will definitely step this up!Really sorry about your sticky table and I know the table you are talking about (table 1 near the door). We are going to get this table re varnished, as the weather has improved, the sun shines directly through the door onto the table, somehow its has began to affect the varnish. Its already booked in for a facelift!Do come back and see us againBest Wishes

Cafe/Restaurant serving freshly cooked breakfasts and homemade lunches. Hot and cold beverages Friendly, excellent value for money. Nothing is too much trouble.
Given all the good reviews i had high expectations..The staff were great, friendly, attentive.Hot drinks couldnât faultThe food was bland and tasteless, I had meat pie, it wasnât seasoned and was very boring. Partner had a breakfast which he wasnât impressed with either.Lots of other places to try out for breakfast/lunch so wonât revisit here Iâm afraid.

I first used this chippy 40 years ago when it was commonly referred to as âthe best chippy in the worldâ With being in the area, I thought I would try it for lunch. It has changed inside the cafe area and the counter has altered. The chips were always excellent, lovely and crisp. I was very pleased that the high standards have been maintained.
