Must have missed this great not so wee cafe on my trips to Forfar.Very clean and an excellent service provided by staff who looked as if they enjoyed their job.Coffee and cake twice for around £5.80 can`t be bad,and one of the coffees was in a big mug. Will be back.

Good service, but that's where it ended. Cullen skink? Hard to get wrong, but this was tasteless and had to pile on the seasoning. The fish was mushy and on the whole a total disappointment. Picked the tablet cheesecake from the specials board and again bland thank goodness it came with a strawberry jus and ice cream.

Worth a trip out here to sample lovely, delicious home cooked and baked goodies. We've been a few time, mostly at the weekend. This visit was a Friday morning, on this occasion things felt a little on the back foot, like they were not really prepared for a full house or maybe not enough staff. Menu is always limited and differs from the weekend ( which isn't big either) but that everything is cooked fresh to order, therefore takes a wee while. Soups are always quirky flavours and very delicious. Then there are the cakes and scones again odd combinations but so good. They also dated well for gluten free.Dog friendly, lovely friend oh staff too.

We are located on the B954 approximately 1 mile North of the roundabout on the outskirts of Alyth. We offer a wide variety on our lunch menu - there are always daily specials too. We bake all kinds of cakes and scones and serve them with our homemade jams
We had opportunity recently to visit the restaurant on several occasions. We sampled breakfast...eggs benedict superb!...and lunch...and two evening meals ( Friday and Saturday).....along with occasional coffee breaks. The food was imaginative, well cooked and very good value. Donna and her team couldnât have made us any more welcome. The location of the stunning restaurant is amazing with views over the Glenisla 9 hole golf course. We just loved it here and would HIGHLY recommend it.

This cafe has a limited menu. Coffee was good. Food was acceptable, only. Service friendly but rather lacking in care and attention

Found ourselves in Forfar looking for somewhere to eat, and decided on Tiffins purely on appearance from outside. It looks unpretentious and that is what it is. Once inside, it is clean and staff welcoming. The Sri Lankan owner is very friendly and keeps a close eye on the running of the restaurant.I chose the "authentic chicken curry", which the owner explained was a Sri Lankan recipe and cooked by his wife. My partner had macaroni cheese as she is vegetarian. The meals arrived quickly and I have to say the curry was excellent; better in fact than most of the specialist curry restaurants I have been to. The side salad was fresh, and in general the to meals were very good. It all seemed to have been freshly cooked, rather than some of the microwaved frozen offerings you get served at the bigger chain type restaurants. If you're in Forfar, give Tiffins a try, you won't regret it!

this restaurant is located within the Castle itself and is used by the visitors to the ancestral castle where the Bowes- Lyons still live since the 13 Century . The home of the late Queen Mother as it was her fathers castle and estate .
A nice place to stop after the tour to enjoy a cup of tea and a cake. Highly recommend the Victoria sponge, though my friend had the Millionaire's shortbread. Both servings were substantial and one cannot complain about being unsatisfied. Nice tea and hot chocholate.

Stopped in for a break on drive to Aberdeenshire, liked it so much we stopped again on the way back. Having had a pretty awful previous experience at another nearby establishment we were well impressed with the mill. The food is all homemade, mushroom soup was particularly nice and the sandwiches fresh and tasty. Coffee good, cakes looked tempting but didn't try. Staff very pleasant and friendly, prices reasonable. Outside seating available too.
