Find out what Cafe restaurants to try in Franschhoek. The village of Franschhoek (French Corner), tucked into the Cape Winelands of South Africa, is known as the country's food and wine capital. Galleries and antique shops fill the tree-lined streets, and vineyards established more than 300 years ago cascade over the hills just outside town. Local activities range from wine-tasting tours to trout fishing and hiking. The Huguenot Memorial Museum honors the town's early settlers, who fled religious persecution in France.

Pavement Cafe, specialising in local Method Cap Classique (bubbly), fresh, healthy meals, vegetarian options. Great range of burgers and platters to share.
We had a delicious lunch here yesterday. Roasted butternut squash, avocado and feta salad with spiced nuts with a balsamic dressing for Pip. A couple of salmon fishcakes with salad for PaulAnd two very nice milkshakes.Service was friendly. It took about 10 minutes for food to arrive which was fine - after all I would expect them to have to cook the fishcakes. A very nice lunch spot in the open in the sun.

What was once the original waenhuis, or wagon house, of Boschendal has been sensitively restored into our attractive Deli. This family-friendly destination serves delicious breakfasts, lunch, and afternoon tea with tables both in the cosy restaurant and s
We were recommended Boschendal gardens/winery/restaurant/manor house/deli and taken here by friends en route to another destination. After a walk around the gardens we sat outside the cafe/restaurant/deli which was very pleasant with the dappled sun glinting through the trees. My only down was the chickens wandering about under and around the chairs and tables. I am a bit phobic of birds so this was slightly disconcerting for me. We all enjoyed our drinks; my hot chocolate was delicious and everyone else enjoyed their coffees. The food served to other customers looked delicious. My friends said that the famous Boschendal picnic baskets are amazing! We had a look around the deli but did not buy anything as we had no means of keeping it cool on our day out, We did not do the wine tasting either on this visit but have been told it is excellent. I would certainly like to return.

Modern unique and fresh cuisine from a world of tastes. Specialising in local South African dishes. Doing breakfast lunch and dinner. Also specialising in tapas style food and cocktails. Speciality coffee and home baked cakes. All produce fresh and local.
This is a tourist town and stop for many tour groups with numerous dining choices up and down the main street, and I looked at many before selecting Cafe Franschoek. I was very pleased with my choice as they had exactly what I was looking for. Wine, pate and quiche. Had a nice table on the shaded patio, nice local wines, and superb food with excellent service. Inside is very quaint and would be very nice on cooler days.
