We were looking for a Sunday lunch and were lucky enough to have a delicious lunch here. Fresh veg, tender lamb and turkey, and attentive service. Not perhaps the trendiest establishment in Exmouth, but this is reflected in the sensible prices as well, as we've often been stung for sub standard food around this area; as well as some downright rude staff in the well known places. The desserts look delicious, but we just couldn't this time - we'll have to come back!

Sandwiches, fish salad, a healthy option is always possible here. I had the fish salad with granary bread and butter. Prices were reasonable, staff friendly. Service was swift, food was lovely. There was a jug for tap water of which we gladly glugged many glasses. There was a bar, but it was so warm that a pint would have made me doze off on the beach and miss the train home!!

This is such a lovely place, really friendly, very good value, this is a recommendation given without reservation. If you are in Exmouth then give yourself a treat and have a snack or afternoon tea here.Had a superb and cheese ploughmanâs, with a real lesson in how to do a small accompanying salad, fruit scone, cream and jam with proper tea. This business really deserves to prosper.

We came in on Saturday for lunch. The menu boards are so overpowering, that it's hard to stand at the counter and read them all, whilst other people are trying to get served. We felt the girls at the counter were rushing us,so much so that our order was wrong. The music coming out of speakers was overpowering. And the internet code board is placed in the way of people.

Warm welcome and really friendly atmosphere at Sundowners this evening. We had tapas, falafel, hummus and pitta all of which was delicious. However the bbq mushroom was a step beyond delicious, it was so, so good I may order three portions next time. Terrific value for money three tapas for £8.95 served with some salad leaves and olives. There are lots of vegetarian and vegan options including very tempting looking cakes and brownies. Look out for live music at weekends.

We had just completed the walk from Exeter to Exmouth and wanted some breakfast. A work colleague who lives in Exmouth recommended here, on arrival there were several tables available outside even though it was a warm Saturday morning. I ordered the full English, cost just over £7 including a cup of tea. Allowed me to swap a couple of items on the breakfast, for instance swapped a tomato for an egg. Didn't take too long to arrive, tasted very good. No complaints at all, will certainly return again.

The Bayleaf Cafe is a lovely little locally owned Cafe / Restaurant in the heart of Exmouth Town! We serve Exmouth's best breakfast, a fantastic array of sandwiches and lunch bites, and more! We also sell Devon Roasted coffee, which we think makes us boas
There are numerous adequate cafes/restaurants around this central square but this one is worth seeking out, Staff are helpful, the environment very clean and welcoming and the menu small(ish) but perfectly formed consisting of some favourites and many more healthy alternatives served with a smile. The breads and sharing platter (on 'specials' board inside so go in and have a snoop) are varied and delicious. Snacks/sandwiches served with fresh salad and a few crisps and portions are generous. They were happy for 2 of us to share a well stuffed prawn sandwich as this was quite enough for a light lunch for ladies! The range of drinks was good but coffee was excellent - strong and aromatic.I would recommend that they place their menu in the window. We sat outside to eat and a couple of prospective diners didn't feel they wanted to go inside to investigate what was on offer.Thank you Elaine for your lovely review which will be passed onto Justin and his team. Also thanks for your comment about the menu in the window. We normally do have one in the window but the menu has only just been changed and we hadn't quite got round to putting the new one up. (all done now). We look forward to seeing you again soon.
