Discover Restaurants offering the best Cafe food in Cuenca, Azuay Province, Ecuador. Writers and poets have long flourished in arts-oriented Cuenca, the country's third-largest city and the capital of the Azuay province. We have visited Wunderbar several times. We like sitting outside and have cocktails or a beer...maybe an appetizer. They have a cute garden setting outside. On this visit we ate dinner inside the restaurant and were a little underwhelmed with the food. I ordered a German dish, my wife a veggie sandwich and my son had a German dish too.

We had a recommendation from our guide for this restaurant and we were not disappointed! The food and service was excellent. Excellent burgers and freshly made chips. The chicken wings were very good as well. A great casual spot in Cuenca for great food!

I was GRANDPAcking in Cueca for 5 nights and tried a few of the top rated Tripadvisor 'cheap eats' places.Tripadvisor lists several âCheap Eatsâ ⦠most of which are around Calle Larga. I tried a typical one from the list: The Prancing Pony. A Nachos (one of the cheaper items on the menu) was $5.50.It was good.

French pastry chef, Julien, puts his heart and soul into producing fresh, tasty cookies, quiches, and pastries at his newly opened shop in historic Cuenca. My husband especially liked his crispy, butter cookies with large chunks of chocolate. He has started to make them just about daily as they are very popular with visitors and locals. Julien speaks French, English, and Spanish and is as charming and welcoming as his treats are delicious. Muy sabrosa, Julien - Susana and Garito from Detroit.

Conveniently located downstairs from our AirBnB, we wanted to love this place. Fresh fruit juice great. Beautifully made coffee nowhere near hot, and when we complained, nothing. Enjoyed the food: perfect spring omelette and pancakes were Swedish style, light and fluffy. But breakfast is about coffee, and this is a cafe. Our first meal (breakfast) in Cuenca. Hope it gets better.Sorry about the coffee. Shouldnât have happened. Our waiter wanted to change it for you but you had already drunk it completely when you complained!

We were staying in the area and decided to check out Sucre Sale for breakfast. After enjoying tasty food all over Cuenca, this place was a disappointment. Prices were comparable to all other cafes offering âAmerican-styleâ breakfasts, but the juice was all separated and tasteless, bread was a bit dry and not fresh tasting, tigrillo I ordered came in big chucks, covered with an overcooked egg.. Coffee was just as unimpressive as everything else. Location, interior and service are great, but their food is definitely below average. I would return for a drink on Tuesday night when they have nice Jazz jam, but I would not come back for breakfast.

We have both English and Spanish speaking waitstaff. We serve breakfast all day but have an extensive menu with international cuisine. For example, eggs benedict, omelettes, crepes, veggie & fruit juices, healthy smoothies, soup, salads, sandwiches, burge
I've been avoiding this place for years, way too many gringos, but we finally took the plunge and we weren't disappointed. In fact we're kind of making it our go-to family Sunday brunch place - to give mom a break. The home made sausage patties I dream about. Best hash browns ever. Eggs done right. The eggs Benedict covers my hunger for the day. French toast, pancakes, pretty much everything that a gringo would ever want for their breakfast. Coffee is great and never an empty cup. The lunch menu is large, varied, and delicious. So if you have a hankering for the over-the-top American breakfast, well cooked, good service, go here. You wont be disappointed.

Cuenca's artisan coffee roaster. We roast small batches of premium Ecuadorian coffee, we also serve freshly brewed coffee and espresso-based drinks, both hot and cold. Try our coffee and other drinks with our breakfast or lunch menu.
Excellent coffee in a town with surprisingly few 3rd gen coffee shops. We soon became regulars during our short stay in Cuenca. Do not miss the new location at the base of the mosaic steps next to the river below plaza San Sebastián. The coffee is just as good, the location excellent with some outdoor seating and all your favourite menu items too.
