Situated a few minutes drive from the main road from Cottingham to Beverley (A164) Folly Lake Caf'e sits on the banks of Risby Park Fisheries overlooking the historic Folly Lake. Open daily, the licensed café has ladies & gents toilets, offers indoor seat
The location is ideal for walkers/ramblers and fishermen. Itâs far from the main road, surrounded by the lake obviously :) and greenery. In other words, very pleasant and relaxing setting. The café itself seems to rely too much on these assets. The service was very slow and they still managed to mess up the orders on our table and a table nearby. Some plates even went back to the kitchen!?I had a piece of coffee and walnut cake. What a disappointment! I could see the walnuts so they were in the cake but the coffee flavour was non-existent. What I could taste though was the sugar and there was plenty of it, far too much. The espresso was not the worse Iâve ever had but not great either. It was not overpriced but not cheap either and they donât accept payments by card.

Stopped off in Cottingham for a bite to eat and discovered this little gem. Clean cafe with friendly staff. Some good choices on the menu all at reasonable prices and portions. The salad accompanying the main courses was crisp, fresh and plentiful. Nice selection of cakes. Worth rembering if in the area again.

Great value for money, quality was superb and the staff all very friendly and welcoming. Could not have asked for a better lunch. I would highly recommend. Obviously it is very popular with local business too. I would suggest looking to book, although we did get the last table it was very busy. Can not fault it at all.

We met up the 4 of us for coffee and cake,it was ok but nothing special,i think the tables are to close together, cramped up in a corner.I think a warning should be given when you are picking up the tea pots, some have very hot handles,or very bad pourers, hot tea spilling over

Travellers Rest is situated within a historic Grade ll listed building. Open fires, delicious treats, great coffee and a warm welcome will always await you.
Came here for takeaway sandwiches for my husband and myself on Saturday. Freshly made to order, with a good selection of fillings and cake, this place always hits the spot!! Always have the pulled pork but mixed it up with coronation chicken as well.

Visited with my Partner on Saturday 15/06 for breakfast. We was the 1st customers in. What can I say this place is immaculate & we had a very friendly greeting. We both ordered a breakfast & my partner asked for no mushrooms or tomatoes & this was accommodated & extra sausage & bacon given. I am a vegetarian & as such they do not do a vegetarian option but left the sausages & bacon off & gave me extra mushrooms & scrambled eggs. They are certainly not shy on the potion sizes. Toast comes on a separate plate too. We both ordered a fresh orange juice & again size was good. We both thought the valve for money is good & will look to visit again. My only gripe is that another customer bought food & left it & one of the staff commented to another customer about this. I think it is unprofessional to talk about customers to their customers. I did agree it was a complete waste of food but keep your thoughts to yourself & donât share with your customers

Went to a reunion here in the back of the tearoom (like a little function room I think)...it was just beautiful from start to finish. The food was lovely, with fresh tea, sandwiches, scones/cakes and quiche. Really lovely and fresh food. Loose leaf tea served in teapots and pretty china cups. Really loved the surroundings, polite staff and food. Will go again when in Cottingham.

Recently visited this cafe and it was actually perfect. The service was impeccable and they made us feel welcome. The coffee was great and plentiful. However the food, oh my, the food was incredible for such a small establishment. The menu and its items were put together carefully and brilliantly and was perfectly cooked. We have already planned to come back another day later in the evening for the live music and a few drinks. An absolute gem of a cafe and perfect hosts.
