You can find average restaurants like Nu-Deli anywhere. They're never inspiring and survive only because they provide alternatives in a sea of ambivalence. Nu-Deli has never been my favourite haunt. The decor is aging and the menu plain and uninspiring. Anyway to tonight's dinner. The evening started with a Bruschetta following an unduly lengthy wait to be served, however we were ushered to a better seat by the waitress as a reservation had fallen through. The two were not linked. Service at other tables was also noticeably slow. It's Tuesday evening so it's also a slow night for customers. I had Moroccan Chicken and she had Gnocchi Lamb. The lamb had to be deconstructed prior to eating, the presentation was done with such aplomb even Sir Les Paterson would have blushed! The chicken was on the tough side. I've added pictures of our meal. You can tell the Lamb, it's the one with chops swimming in a sea white liquid. A woeful exhibition of restauranting.

Hot sweet potato and pear soup, served with warm crispy toasted grain bread, with sides of butter, was food for the soul on a bleak day.So glad I took a wrong turn and found this little gem. I couldn't resist trying the coconut raspberry slice that was served with a dollop of thick clotted cream, all sweet treats are made in house, as was everything thing else!!! Just perfect!!If you visit Colac, you must eat here.
I love the coffee and all the amazing desserts and snacks. There is a great choice of larger meals for lunch etc, falafel, kebabs etc. My weakness is the baklava.
The urban Vietnamese kitchen, with healthy and fresh food; hot and cold beverages.
Stopped for a snack on the way to Warrnambool. We had the spring rolls with mushroom ( very tasty ) and pork and mint rice paper rolls. These were delicious, plum with Ork and most enjoyable. We also had coffees to take away that were nice too.

Place was very busy yet we received excellent service. Fast and efficient. I thought the menu implied a salmon filet sandwich, but alas, it was an open face with a slice of smoked salmon on top. Not my cup of tea, but not bad I will try something else next time.

Botanic Cafe on the Lake is an all-day eatery and events space. Located on the picturesque lake at Colac, at the western end of the gardens, it is the perfect venue to enjoy a relaxing drink on the deck, a gourmet lunch or a coffee with a selection of hou
We stopped here as the Main Street in Colac did not seem to offer anything we wanted. We got there around 14:00 and just managed to place a food order with a very friendly server before they stopped taking lunch orders. The wraps were excellent and reasonably priced. Itâs a quiet spot with a good view over the lake

My husband and I had lunch here, we both chose the lamb souvlaki and chips. The meal was delicious and huge. The staff were lovely and welcoming and price was great. Will return again.

The Farmers Son offers a pleasant, casual dining experience with friendly and helpful staff adding to the great atmosphere felt here as soon as you enter the cafe. The vegetable fritter/salad wrap with home made chutney is my favourite and just delicious! The coffee here is great, and becoming known as the best in town.Youâre awesome ! Thankyou so much for for visiting and taking the time to review. The fritters are very popular and, while Iâm kinda biased, I know theyâre delicious Would be great to see you again soon. Cheers, Jamie
