This is a child free zone, and despite the fact that we like well behaved children, it makes for a relaxed time while eating breakfast, lunch or brunch. Newspapers available along with many cookery books to pursue while waiting if you don't want to chat with your companions. Food is very good and well presented - absolutely delicious.

We visited this cafe on a SundayAll the wooden tables were laid with mats and cutlery and every jam/marmalade you could think of We ordered four cooked breakfasts which arrived promptly with big mugs of tea and coffee and toast on the side. The Staff were all friendly and told us we could help ourselves to jam/marmalade off another table for our toast. The breakfast was very reasonably priced for four considering we had tea/coffee refills.Would recommend to all ages especially for campers who fancy a hearty cooked breakfast Thank you

We went for a walk in Medford country park and came here for feeding and watering. Wide range of cakes, we had cream tea. The owner came out into the garden to see how we and if we enjoyed the food and drink, we really enjoyed our visit. :-)
Tearooms offering hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes, scones, assorted sandwiches and light lunches from local suppliers. Winter menu in place Oct-Mar with toastie, bacon buttie, soup, jacket potatoes etc.
This is a great idea and much needed in the village. Itâs a great start and I love the idea of the gift shop upstairs and the candle making workshops (canât wait to try that). My only gripe would be that I would love to see some hot food on the menu as we initially came in here for brunch. They do fresh sandwiches and beautiful homemade cakes. We asked and apparently this will happening later in the year for soups and jacket potatoes. Coffee was lovely and we took two slices of the coffee cake to have later and they were divine.I really hope this place is a successThank you so much for your visit and comments, we are pleased you enjoyed your refreshments. As you say we will be offering some hot options later in the year but are restricted due to limited kitchen space. Hopefully we will be able to provide something for everyone. Please come back and see us again sometime

A vintage tearoom with a veranda inside Clare Antiques Centre. Tea coffee and toasted sandwiches. Homemade sultana or cheddar and spring onion scones. Lovely homemade cakes
Interesting cafe, a good concept, but staffed by youngsters with little training or enthusiasm.Bit more energy and a welcome required, not the attitude we used to expect from British Rail workers in the old days.It almost felt like we were imposing ourselves, on the cafe.Service was slow, tables uncleared, despite not being particularly busy.We didn't even bother to view the centre after this.Plenty of other choices in Clare for another visit. Here at Clare Antiques, we are proud to employ local sixth formers at the weekends, providing valuable work experience and we receive many positive comments. Their fresh input has transformed the image and layout of our tearoom. Regrettably, at the time of your visit, your experience wasn't as happy as we'd like.

Stopped here for lunch. A delight. Gorgeous wee deli with interesting products and a very extensive menu. Soup delicious and my game pie ploughmanâs was excellent. Everything beautifully prepared and staff were thoughtful and helpful. Good array of cold drinks for a warm day but sadly we had no room for sponge pudding. Fascinating to read about the carved head, very intriguing.

The service was warm and friendly and after ordering our food was served in 18 minutes. That time delay is acceptable for freshly cooked food. We ordered chicken chaussures that came with new potatoes that tasted wonderful just like I remember them. The carrots and greens were also crisp. The meal would have been better with more chaussures sauce and without the annoying flies that abound at this time of the year. The table also had a most annoying wobble that it was necessary for me to sort with a wad of paper.

Café Clare is situated in a 14th century building in the heart of Clare - the smallest town in Suffolk. We pride ourselves on serving the best quality ingredients we can obtain. All our cakes, scones and quiches etc. are made on the premises by our talent
We were exploring Suffolk towns and villages and were in Clare at lunchtime. This cafe looked inviting and proved to be so. We were welcomed with a smile and offered a table inside or in the garden. The sun was shining so we settled for the tiny back garden where four tables were set out among the flowers. The menu had a variety of lunch options and an all day breakfast menu from which we both selected scrambled eggs and crumpets. The food arrived promptly, well presented and tasted good. There was plenty of butter oozing from the toasted crumpets and the scrambled egg was done to perfection. The scones the people were eating on a nearby table looked very good too and I would be tempted to try those on another occasion. Clare on a sunny day is delightful to wander around and Cafe Clare an ideal place for a light lunch.
