The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre
Not great. Rashers over cooked. Black and white puddings oily and without real texture. Fried egg a bit tasteless. Sausages were fine. Mushrooms looked and tasted like they were cooked a while ago. The soda toast not successful st all. They do good meals here, alas not the breakfast.Someone should take a critical look at the quality of produce, the cooking and the presentation.Sorry folks.....just not great.

Travelling north from Dublin we hugged the coast and arrived at Skerries where we enjoyed a terrific walk around the headland and were ready for a break. The Goat in the Boat cafe beckoned us from its great position near the Sea memorial. A great selection of cakes complemented the good coffee.
Recently Karen kindly allowed us to have a 21st birthday party, which was from start to finish Amazing. On arrival she had already decorated the tea room, and on each table were handcrafted nibbles of fresh salmon and her own homemade yummy bread, when all our guests arrived we were served a lovely Chicken a la king with rice, which was devine. However, she kept the best for last, an amazing Handmade Chocolate birthday cake with aLl kinds of every thing chocolate inside. Our thanks and heartfelt appreciation, goes to Karen and her staff for starting our birthday celebrations with a night to remember. Definitely worth considering for a party or intimate gathering for all occasions. Just off the Motorway at J7, you'll not be disappointed

In Laytown for the race day and visited Nan's for lunch. Busy place but obviously a good local place, lots of chatter and greetings to people as they came in. We were greeted warmly and given the menu. I had the salad and it was amazing. It was full of so many things, avocado, apple, pomegranate seeds, quinoa etc. I also ordered the soda bread and that was glorious, so good. Our other meal was the chicken burger and home made chips, all excellent. Good food, friendly...go visit.

Breakfast menu time again and pretty much the same choices as all the usual breakfast joints ... full breakfast, small breakfast, smashed avocado, poached eggs ... etc.... so after my last encounter with Eggs Benedict a week ago within Dublin city boundaries I decided to get a Full Irish breakfast out here in North county Dublin .... Skerries, Cafe Jacques, â¬11.95 I think, nearly sure but open to correction.Quality very poor for that price, seriously, we ate the same breakfast, same price, at Kealyâs on Old Airport road last week and there is no comparison.Sausages, beans, white pudding, hash brown and the toast were really awful, I do not want to use the word cheap, .. so I wonât.I tasted my partners mushrooms from her choice of the Healthy option breakfast , as there were none on the full breakfast, and they tasted .... yes, awful as well, rubbery . But her poached eggs, sausage, tomato etc. were enjoyed.I did enjoy their decor, inviting and clean and it is a busy establishment that is attracting one and all.So, for what itâs worth, if you guys there, - just up your ante a little more... (take a quick look at Mrs.Jonesâs cafe in Jonesâs garden centre) and check out the quality of their full breakfast ... bang on and same price yours, you will be on track.I say all of these things with an open heart and good intentions and I could go on and on but just apply the same rule of thumb to quality across the board and all will be well.Thank you for your hospitality and we shall be back in the future

Dropped in for lunch. No problems at all - good service, clean tables, polite staff & an excellent toasted wrap & fries. "Thank you"

Myself & my husband had another fantastic meal here last night .The food is just gorgeous. The chef/owner cooks everything from scratch nothing is prepared. This cosy restaurant only fits 20 people which make the ambiance just perfect. As a Skerries resident I want to let the general public know you will find it hard to get another restaurant like this one any where. Unfortunately it only open on a Friday & Saturday night for dinner but opens all week except Tuesday for breakfast & luches.

The only benefit is a nice view from the window. Sofa's and chairs covers so old, torn and sticky. You would never see staff going around and cleaning ever. You have to ask them as a favor to clean the table after previous customers or you will clean it by yourself. Wasn't big choice of pastry or some other deserts. All 4 staff were staying together behind the counter serving two people in a queue, instead of going outside to clean the cafe. Hygiene level is very low.

Went for breakfast with my sister and kids. The place is very spacious and the waitress pulled two tables together to accommodate us. The food was fab, the kids all loved it. Molly was the name of our waitress and she chatted to the kids and was attentive to my sisters needs as she breastfed her baby without any awkwardness. There was flexibility in the menu for the kids which is always a huge plus for me when paying money for good service. Lots of room for strollers and highchairs.
