Yokohama is easily accessible from Tokyo, but there’s enough to see and do here that it’s worth more than a day trip. Visit Minato Marai 21, a popular, modern neighborhood with great shopping and tons of restaurant options. TripAdvisor travelers also recommend stopping at Big Wharf (Osanbashi Pier), a uniquely shaped pier with spectacular views.

We had a wonderful day with Takashi as our guide. We visited Arakura Sengen Park and Shrine, 4th Station, Wind and Ice Caves, Mt Fuji Panoramic Ropeway and Oishi Park. We were very lucky and got to see Mt. Fuji all day. Takashi was very knowledgeable about all sites and the history of Japan and we would highly recommend this tour.

Sankeien is known as one of the great Japanese garden in Japan. It is very sophisticatedly designed and photogenic. However, many people might not know that this place have an amazing collection of traditional Japanese architecture some even can dating back to 1457. Why was it collected here and who was Mr Sankei? How would you appreciate the Japanese style houses/ temples and what's so special about it? Let me explain about this garden from the very basic questions such as how is Japanese garden and architecture made and you will be an expert at the end of the tour.
Inclusions: Entry to Sankeien garden, Matcha green tea
Exclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle
Yuka was a fantastic guide for us (two couples) in Kamakura and Enoshima Island. She met us at the train station and provided great insights into the area while accompanying us to fabulous sites, including the Big Buddha in Kamakura. Aside from the touring, she suggested culinary choices and was very open about local life. She was also genuinely interested in hearing from us. At the end of a great day, she made sure we were on the right train to our next destination. Aside from everything else, Yuka’s command of English is truly impressive.

This day trip went above our expectations. It started with being picked up very timely at our hotel and continued with a very smooth and safe drive to our first location. Our guide spoke excellent English, was extremely friendly and even accompanied us during our visits to numerous shrines. What was most enjoyable was the flexibility of the schedule, which we could alter as the day passed. It enabled us to see way more sights and get more background information, than we could ever have possible achieved ourselves. This trip comes highly recommended!
Yokohama is a beautiful city where port and big town coexists. Towards the end of the Edo Period (1603-1867), during which Japan maintained a policy of self-isolation, Yokohama's port was one of the first to be opened to foreign trade in 1859. Consequently, Yokohama quickly grew from a small fishing village into one of Japan's major cities. Let's feel the sea breeze with CBL.

Kamakura is such a compact city that you can see the whole area within a day. One of the representative sight-seeing spots is Big Image of Buddha in Kotokuin temple. From there, you can travel almost all the famous temples for six hours. Many historical sites are covered in public transportation services. On the way to Hachimangu, we can enjoy shopping on KOMACHI street. While walking through the street, we can feel something different from the western culture. In this area, there are many valuable temples and shrines within a walk. So, we can visit many historical temples and shrines such as so-called hydrangea temple and bamboo grove temple. All these temples are located in calm environment, so you will feel like being in KAMAKURA ZEN Buddhism style. About 1 hour from JR Kita Kamakura station, we will visit the 2nd largest city YOKOHAMA. This time, we will stop over at China town in ISHIKAWA cho in Yokohama. We can enjoy a variety of Chinese cuisines for reasonable prices.
Inclusions: English speaking professional guide, Private tour, Hotel pick up and drop off

Yoshi was a great tour guide. He tells a lot of stories and takes you to your desired places and then some. We went to the National Gardens, stopped to say hi to Hachiko, and went to the Chiku Chiku Cafe. The Hedgehogs were so cute! They're usually nocturnal and the one I was visiting, Butter, was really tired and wanted to sleep so I only took a couple pictures and let him rest the rest of the time :) Take care Yoshi! Hope you have more fun adventures

While we were sad to have to cancel our July trip to Japan due to the pandemic, we found the process of working with Japan Awaits to be easy and efficient. I can't speak to the full experience since we weren't able to go, but filling out the form and our communication with the company was no problem. And their prompt and courteous response to our request for a refund speaks to their professionalism. We will definitely come back to ask for their help in procuring tickets to the Studio Ghibli Museum when we do finally make it to Japan! Fingers crossed for next summer.

Just one hour from Tokyo, Kamakura is the home of the samurai and is of great cultural importance to Japan. To start your day, meet your guide at your hotel, or the closest station. You will then set off to combat the Daibutsu Trail, which is 3.7 miles (6km) in length. The Daibutsu hiking trail runs between the Great Buddha (Daibutsu) in the south and the Jochi-ji Zen temple towards the north. The tour can be personalized according to your wishes. Just let the local partner know what you would like to experience, what time you would like to start your tour, and where you are staying. Note*1: Please select your must-see spots from a list in the tour information to create your customized itinerary. Note*2: The Nationally-licensed Tour Guide-Interpreter certification is issued by the Japanese government requires a good knowledge and understanding of Japanese culture and history.
Inclusions: Free Photos, Hotel Pick up and Drop-off, Licensed Local Guide
Exclusions: Other personal expenses, Entrance fee (for yourself), Transportation fee (for yourself and your guide), Lunch, Private transportation
The flexibility to chose locations that suited our wants and abilities was great. Hiro San was very quick to put together an itinerary that accommodated a family with a stroller-baby (no monkey park due to long unpacked walking paths). Taking in the beautiful temples and view of the Kyoto from the west was breath taking and the guide was able to explain many things we as new Japanese learners could not read or know through cultural knowledge. Overall a great experience, a wonderful and lively guide, and some great memories.
