Would you like to see a different side of Kilimanjaro? Would you like to visit a coffee farm and help make a pot of coffee from scratch?! If the answer is yes then this is the route for you. About two hours outside of Arusha is the village of Materuni, home of the Materuni waterfalls made up of snow run-off from Kilimanjaro. It's an easy half hour walk to see the falls. After viewing and possibly swimming in the falls, return to the village and experience how coffee is made. Members of the Chaga tribe will show you where the coffee is grown and you will help make the best cup of coffee you have ever tasted! You will help grind it, roast it, sift it, and finally drink it. As you are approaching Moshi keep your eyes open because every so often the clouds part and you can catch a glimpse of the iconic Mt. Kilimanjaro! My favorite tour ever!

Safari in Tanzania is one of the things you must do in life. It’s such a mind-blowing experience. Imagine seeing all kind of animals living in harmony, having their own world. Imagine getting so close to a lion and have a face to face moment. I was so lucky to meet Gea and take the decision of going on a safari with his tour. Everything was amazing according to the budget which was half the price everywhere else. The campsite was clean, staff were hospitable and the food was good. The driver was patient and keen to show us everything. I was really impressed with the African show and music at night- was such a surprise. I really recommend Moana tours because the owner is a genuine person who cares about making people happy not rip them off, which is not the case with most of safari tours.

The Chemka Hot Springs are an oasis in the hinterland of the Kilimanjaro region, situated 40 kilometres from Moshi. At these idyllic underground springs with the crystal clear, turquoise water, you can enjoy the perfect rest after a strenuous Kilimanjaro climb or adventurous wilderness safari. But also for day-trippers, they are an ideal destination. Whether it’s the old, the young, the quiet or the active, the Chemka Hot Springs invite you to linger, swim and explore. The pond is very deep, in some places up to 10 meters, but the water is so clear that you can see the bottom well all the time.

Excellent service is the only way I can describe the Serengeti Camping Safari team, right from the beginning communication with Anita was far helpful and detailed. She provided me with all the answers I needed without getting tired or complaining, the team made me feel right at home when I arrived at the airport. I did a 5 days safari with the best driver/guide (Lucus) who is so knowledgeable about animals and birds he made me and rest of the group know more about different animals behavior and most of it all he was so funny, and he thought us some Swahili words like 'mambo, poa, vipi musela yangu and many more. My stay in Tanzania was a memorable one, thanks to Serengeti Camping Safari.

The trip to Kilimandjaro was very nice and well organized from the day we took the transfer from Moshi to Lemosho trail. In the first day the trip was very beautiful passing through the farmlands, forests until getting to the shira plateau. In other treks at Moir hut, Barranco, and Barafu camp. Though the way to Barafu had a little challenge unlike other days. The summit night was great with some long ascending hours and descending but it was generally the good experience. We could not make it well if not good cooperation from the Bayango Tours team since we arrived at the airport and transferred to the hotel. In the mountain I also enjoyed the bananas soup mixed with meat it was very nice especially during the cold times in the mountain. For safari also it was a great moment to see Tarangire park, Ngorongoro crater, Serengeti park and the Hadzabe tribe. I liked the way little zebras were running, elephants and ostrich. I can generally recommend this tour as we enjoyed it with my friends.

The tranquility and peace of Lake Chaka seem a thousand lifetimes away from the bustle of Moshi town, but it’s actually only an hour’s drive away, so perfect for a day trip with a difference. Lake Chala is a caldera lake fed by clean, cold underground streams from Kilimanjaro itself, and it’s renowned for its gloriously changing colours; from deepest turquoise to emerald green to azure and all colours in between. It’s a perfect place to relax and unwind and you’ve the choice of hiking the picture-perfect countryside around the lake, swimming in its sparkling waters (don’t forget your cozzie!) or kayaking across the border to Kenya. Or all three! It’s a day full of getting up close and personal to one of the greatest (and quietest) treasures of Tanzania.

Lemosho Route **** (RECOMMENDED) The Lemosho route is one of the newer routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. The route begins in the west and rather than simply intersecting Shira Plateau (like Machame), Lemosho crosses it from Shira Ridge to Shira Camp. Climbers encounter low traffic until the route joins the Machame route. Afterwards, Lemosho follows the same route through Lava Tower, Barranco and Barafu, known as the southern circuit. The minimum number of days required for this route is six days, although eight days is ideal. Lemosho is considered the most beautiful route on Kilimanjaro and grants panoramic vistas on various sides of the mountain. It is our favorite route because it offers a great balance of low traffic, scenic views and a high summit success rate. Thus, Lemosho comes highly recommended. Most of our clients use Lemosho.

We could not recommend Gazelle Adventures enough! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience that we had with the Gazelle team. Chriss is a fantastic owner, he personally looked after all of our needs. Abe was an absolute pleasure to work with, emailing for months to put our trip together. Our team who got us up Mount Kilimanjaro, lead by Prosper and Martin, were so great. It was by far one of the best experiences both Mark and I have had. We summited on my 30th birthday and the team surprised me with a cake and bubbles. We had a 15min party on top of Africa and it is something we will never forget. After kili we did a 6 day safari lead by our fantastic guide Deo. We learnt so much from him and saw some amazing sightings. Tarangire National park, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. All the park so beautiful and well worth a visit ???? Overall, we were so impressed with the services provided and the team at Gazelle. We have walked away with new friends and amazing memories. Oh, and for anyone worried about food, both our chefs were amazing, we loved the GF and DF food that we received. Lots of fresh veg and fruit and just so delicious! Thank you for making our trip so wonderful ❤️
