This tour will take us to some of the most important sites that defined the Civil Rights Movement in America. Our journey will take us on a definitive and emotional story of the civil rights era that changed the fabric of American life and sparked a movement. From the pulpit where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. preached to the spot where Mrs. Rosa Parks refuse to give up her seat on a Montgomery City bus. Afterwards, we'll continue on to the Civil Rights Memorial center and many other sites related to the Civil Rights movement. It's been said that those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

Jake is serious about making this the best tour you will ever take. He had a professional, clean, and huge tour bus (social distancing compatible), opened the doors for us, gave us complimentary journals, magazines, and Alabama brochures in a tote bag, complimentary bottles of water (our 3 year old appreciated that), and even gave us a choice of his favorite local restaurant to eat lunch at. We drove by and walked through every major landmark in Montgomery, including the capitol, historic places like the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church, the spot where the Freedom Riders were attacked, the very place Rosa Parks was arrested, and more. Jake even drove us to Selma on the very route Rev John Lewis, Dr. King, and all the foot soldiers walked, and let us walk across the famous bridge in Selma where Obama spoke in 2015 to a crowd of 80,000 people. This tour guide is a foot soldier himself. He joined the Selma march as a child and pointed out the "blacks only" water fountain he had to drink from as a child.

I was part of a group of 4 travel agents from the UK who went on a tour with Jake on 12 March 2020. What can I say about Jake - he is amazing!!! He was so knowledgeable and to be shown around Montgomery by someone who is living history was a privilege. We were lucky enough to meet a Freedom Rider at the Freedom Rides Museum, her name was Kredelle Petway. Jake seemed to enjoy this as much as we did. Looking around the museums and reading what was written down, I found quite emotional at times, but it happened and must never be forgotten. Jake is a gentleman, he had time for everyone and answered any questions we had without hesitation. I mentioned to Jake that my daughter was learning about Civil Rights in her history class at school. He gave me his card and said that if she needed any more information, then she or her teacher could email him. I highly recommend any of Jake's tours to anyone, there is so much to see!! I have travelled a lot with my job and have been to many museums and on many , but this has to be one of the best tours I have been on!!! I had a great day - thank you!!!

The Ghost and Graveyards Driving Tour is our most dynamic Winter Tour. We take you through the darkness in our Grand Caravan in heated comfort to and through many sites we normally only talk about. We view our only Antebellum mansion, Arlington, in the darkness and learn about lost and hidden graveyards…hauntings at our historic theaters and hotels, and enter a historic cemetery and gaze into the tombs in the darkness and, perhaps, have something stare back out….
