Reviews on Burmese food in Yangon (Rangoon), Yangon Region, Myanmar. Yangon (formerly known as Rangoon) is no longer the capital of Myanmar, but it has experienced a huge increase in tourism recently. Book early, as hotel rooms are sometimes hard to find! While you’re in town, the Shwedagon Pagoda, an immense, ancient Buddhist shrine, is a must-see—TripAdvisor travelers recommend visiting at sunrise or sunset.

Following the recommendation of the Lonely Planet we took a taxi here for breakfast. Just wonderful. The Mohinga (?) noodles were terrific as were the bao, samosas and prawns (yes - the food was so good it was a rather large breakfast). We asked the chap next to us what he was having and he let us have it! (Of course we paid for it). All for less than £3. Service super quick and friendly but what would you expect in Myanmar?Excellent

We provide the different kind of Shan traditional noodles and Shan cuisine.
We spotted the line at Shan999 while walking around old Yangon and stopped to give it a try. We loved so much we ended up coming back a number times to go deeper into the menu. Standouts are the whole fried fish (if theyâre not too busy the waiter might do the work for you and separate all the meat from the bones using only a fork and a spoon), the ribs, the tea leaf salad, the fried tofu and of course the Shan Noodles. Easily one of our favorite spots in Yangon.

It is an authentic traditional Mon people cuisine which only exist in major city; Yangon, Myanmar.
It's worth to try Mon cuisine if you like slightly spicy foods. I visited the branch in Myanmar Plaza. Pros:1. Really authentic taste and not terribly spicy2. Size of meals is just enough - not too small, not elephant size3. Quite quick service Cons:1. During my visit only one choice of sidedish - steamed rice.

Burma Bistro is a natural evolution of traditional Burmese cuisines infused with global culinary influences that represents modern day Burma.
With loads of people on the team, and everyone busy, this place has some big attractions. The menu is quite extensive: everything but pork. There are some appetising local cuisine offerings as well as Thai and Indian. The mathematics embedded into the floor tiling is quaint. The wait staff are dressed immaculately and the big team seem to all get along very well. This place was recommended by the hotel, for good reason.

Enjoy the exotic, local cuisine of Myanmar, with its subtly blended spice, or select from a wide variety of European fine-dining specialties. Mandalay Restaurant at Belmond Governor's Residence benefits from a romantic location, surrounded by tropical gar
First off, the service here is second to none. Exceptional and attentive service all throughout the evening and it couldn't have been any better. The Ambience is excellent too with a vintage British charm and aura to the place. And then comes the slightly disappointing aspect. The food. It was a bit underwhelming as I feel they have tailored this to a western palate. It lacked the punch and flavour. Don't get me wrong, the food was very well presented and tasted good. But it just did not match our expectations and the high standard of this hotel. A total of $150 for 7 of us including all drinks, service charges and taxes. A memorable experience indeed, well worth a visit as long as you keep your food expectations in check.

Myanmar authentic food collection from various regions of the whole our country .We avoid " MSG " for health and all kind of meet is safety in " Hala ".We also make sure for pure vegetarian clients, gluten free and any kind of food allergic person.
Sit-down restaurant with AC and decent wait staff - slow at times- to get introduced to the various cuisines of Myanmar. I have been there a couple of times and enjoyed the experience each time. The big tray/platter is recommended for a group to get a taste of several cooking styles in one sitting. You can ask the staff to adjust the level of spiciness as some ethnic dishes can be quite hot.

A signature Wai Wai's Shan noodle is now open in downtown area at Bo Aung Kyaw St, west opposite of the landmark The Secretariat.
Great introduction to Burmese good very tasty but not too spicy. Tomato and ginger salads excellent and the roof top location was great once you have climbed 4 flights of stairs. Great staff really recommended.

Linkage Restaurant is a social project as well as a link to Tha-Nge-Chin-Myar, a volunteer group founded in 2010. It is a pretty corner in crowded downtown of Yangon, Myanmar where you can enjoy a great collection of Myanmar Fine Art (paintings) and delic

We provide variety of food but our specialty is Shan Noodle and fish pounded with rice from the original taste of Shan State. Please remember to try our signature dish Fish with lime as well.
Service was excellent, staff very friendly and spoke very good English. Menu was in English and had pictures so was easy to see what you were ordering. Food was very tasty and was still hot when it arrived, nice big portions. Thai fried rice a must to try. Very reasonably priced too. Would recommend
Chanced upon this restaurant during our day tour. Initially we thought that with the huge elegant place and well dressed up staff, food will be expensive but my friend and I were surprised to have such huge servings. As we stumbled at this place during lunch time, there were no customers when we came in. Service was great and they even gave us some live harp music at the stage. Recommending this place if you want elegant service at affordable food price. We are so pleased you enjoyed your experience at Karaweik Palace. Its wonderful to hear such positive review. We hope to see you again.Thank you.
