In this fully immersive escape room game set in Captain Blackbeard’s pirate ship, one of Blackbeard’s own crew members has turned on him and left a trail of clues, riddles, puzzles and challenges to help you find the treasure. The aim of the game is to find the treasure and get out within 60 minutes before Blackbeard returns. Pirate Escape is a live escape room game experience. Designed for groups
We attempted the jungle room. Most of us were new to escape rooms but once we got into the swing of things it was non-stop and great fun. Our group was three adults and kids aged 15,10, and 8. Everyone was right into it and there was a huge variety of puzzles that everyone could have a go at (even the youngsters). The room was well laid out and the clues given when we were struggling ensured we didn't get stuck and bored. The kids already want to go back to try the other rooms

Reached between the tides via a short causeway, St. Mary's has all the fascination of a miniature, part-time island. The Lighthouse, completed in 1898 on a hazardous coast for shipping, remained operational until 1984 when it was superseded by modern navigational techniques. Since then the Lighthouse and former keepers' cottages have been operated as a visitor centre by North Tyneside Council. The surrounding Nature Reserve contains an area of rockpools, clifftop grassland, a beach and newly created wetland habitats.Wherever possible we are open seven days a week between May and September, and during weekends and school holidays in the winter. However, it is not possible for us to open on some days because of tidal conditions. The stated opening times can also be subject to variations on occasion due to weather affecting the times of the tide.

Due to Covid 19 our plans to eat at the golf club were spoiled. However they are offering a delivery and collect service. The dinner was superb tender beef and well cooked vegetables which travelled well.. we were also given an extra pot of gravy to add to the home cooked giant Yorkshire pudding. At £6.50 an absolute steal. My husband also chose treacle pudding with custard £1.50 for a huge portion. The pick up was well organised so social distance was not compromised. Absolutely delicious We will definitely order again. Thank you.

For a long, long time, Whitley Bay had very few decent boozers to recommend to the beer lover. The last few years have seen a marked turnaround as an eclectic range of independent boozers have opened. Leading the pack has been The Dog and Rabbit - a cracking, traditional micro pub with great home brewed ales and a wide range of guests. You’re always assured of a quality pint and a warm welcome - and great home deliveries during lockdown. Long may it continue.

Had a really lovely couple of drinks here. The beer was kept well (especially given the heat) and the bar staff were exceptionally well-versed and friendly. Really impressed and would come back time after time.
