We spent our New Years family holiday in Baqueira and went straight to Skicenter to book instructors for the whole family as we had a positive previous experience in Sierra Nevada. The instructors are simply fantastic, my 7 year old boy improved dramatically and my 10 year old girl got the confidence to ride the most challenging slopes with dad. Service at the office was excellent, very flexible with booking times and they got us English speaking instructors. I’m the only one snowboarding in the family and decided to take a few classes to improve technique and going off-piste. Antonio took me on some awesome rides with fresh powder and I feel I improved my riding significantly. Rodri and the girls at the office are super nice and they gave us discount for booking successive lessons. Thank you team Skicenter Baqueira, you made our holiday a complete success!

The route to this zoo is very well indicated and the climb to it is spectacular, a road mountain stage of the Tour and La Vuelta with wonderful views and with reminders in the revolts of the Spanish cyclists who have won some Tour Parking is large but it is convenient to arrive early because it gets crowded The wonderful thing about this zoo is that its animals are those that are in their environment, animals of the Pyrenees, no lions and kangaroos, there are bears, wolves, deer, fallow deer, bearded vultures, fauna of the area with the natural vegetation of the area , no artificial wetlands The animals are in semi-freedom, you walk among them on marked trails, only the most dangerous bears and wolves have some protection such as pits or lines of high voltage cables So much so that my wife was accidentally pecked by a griffon vulture, they can appear at any time and my daughter was able to feed the marmots with her hand At the end of the tour there is an interesting very educational museum of the fauna and flora of the Pyrenees as well as these were formed through the decades

Among all the hiking routes that can be done in the Aran Valley, this is one of the easiest to go with children and that is also completely spectacular throughout its route. But beware, you have to go early, before 9.30 in the morning, otherwise the parking lot from where the trail starts will be closed and you have to park in the small town of Artiga de Lin, which is beautiful but leaves us about two kilometers from the trailhead The road to access the path from the town of Es Bordes, the detour is well indicated, it is spectacular and even if you go by car it is worth going slowly and enjoying it The first thing you see as soon as you start is the Lin waterfall, which hides a secret disappears into the earth near the peak of Aneto and reappears here from the ground as if by magic Then we cross a wooden bridge and the path continues with good wooden steps, the waterfall being on our right and we were amazed by the grandeur of the countryside, the water sounds and the waterfalls At the top we arrive at the Artiga de Lin meadow where we can rest, have a cold drink and take endless magnificent photos, returning by another spectacular path to the starting point, the path is circular, it takes one or two hours depending on the stops you want to make

One cannot avoid getting lost in this charming town in the Aran Valley and any path one takes will always take you and this beautiful Romanesque church will be present. Declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest, it is considered a standard of Aranese Romanesque architecture, it is located on a high point where the castle of Arties also stood, of which only one tower remains It has two access doorways, the main one, which opens onto the north façade, is spectacular with semicircular arches, the decoration has semicircular motifs, the last archivolt is finished off with a border identical to that of the cornice of the apses. Two corbel stones are decorated in the shape of male faces, A cross is engraved on one of the blocks next to the door The church has an altarpiece that represents several biblical scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary, on the ceiling there are some masterful wall paintings, which represent the biblical scenes of the Last Judgment with hell, heaven and the resurrection of the dead.
