If the idea of a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon learning about the history and production of Brabant’s most authentic herb liqueur appeals to you, then visit the Schrobbeler distillery. On an interesting tour under the proverbial smoke of Tilburg, you will learn all about this – by the producer’s own modest account – “valued atmosphere enhancer”. Introduced during Carnival in 1973, Schrobbeler has always maintained a strong link with this fun annual festival. Learn all there is to know about Schrobbeler – with the exception of the family secret of course – on one of the fun guided tours. Smile, warmth and friendship Tickets for one of the open tours at 1.30pm on Saturday or Sunday can be booked at schrobbeler.nl. Groups of fifteen people or more can also book on other days and times. And it’ll be well worth it, as confirmed by one guest: “We had a very enjoyable but also successful afternoon. The staff are friendly and were keen to tell us about the history of Schrobbeler. ''

Natuurmuseum Brabant is a family friendly museum about the lives of plants and animals, with special attention for the human perspective. Hunt Mammoths in the Ice Age exhibition (IJstijd), observe wolves in the True Wolf exhibition (De Ware Wolf) or become a detective in the OO - ZONE, where you will find over 2000 objects in an imitation museum depot. For our youngest visitors we have the exhibition Frog & Friends (Kikker is Hier!), where they can visit Frog's house and play a variety of games.

Films have been shown at 29 Willem II Street for more than a hundred years. By traveling companies and cinemas such as De Nieuwe Bioscoop, Cinema Royal, Camera, Ambassade and - since 1983 - Cinecitta. Cinecitta has always been strong in art house films. We show gems from all over the world, which often largely overshadow regular Hollywood films. No blockbusters, but special films for people who do not go with the crowd.
Just before entering our weekly film we decided to have a quick bite at the Cinecitta restaurant. Staff is, as always, friendly and accurate. My Sauvignon was perfectly chilled and tasty. For €4,80 maybe a bit too pricy, but I didn’t care on this night out. The bavette I ordered was simply gorgeous. My compliments to the kitchen crew !!

In the summer of 2020 I had dinner with a friend on their terrace, tasty and tender spare ribs with coleslaw, accompanied by a fresh zesty locally brewed beer, very good. What most surprised me however, was their Easter dinner. We had the non-vegetarian option that consisted of a beef tataki with mushrooms, cod on lasagne, chuleta and finally a chocolate egg filled with cream and mango. It came well prepared, well packaged and with clear, easy to follow instructions. Finishing it at home took only minutes per dish. The candle and napkins that were added to the package were a nice, thoughtful touch. The food was, again, very good.
