We live in the beautiful Sierras of Rocha, easily accessible and close to the beach, yet well off the beaten path. Our passion are horses, so mostly we offer stays based on long horse back rides for experienced riders, or gentle introductions to the world of horses for beginners. However, we also offer our amenities to anyone who just enjoys being off the tourist paths for a few days, who likes to enjoy peace and quiet and beautiful nature and hearty vegetarian cuisine. We are part of an ecological, organic, artistic comunity,so there is wild honey, organic milk and cheese, and plenty of live music.
Had such a fantastic day at Caballos de Luz with the with awesome and intrepid Lucie! Our afternoon started with some outdoor wild swimming in their glorious backyard river (with a really fun rope swim and natural jacuzzi), then we had a very professional briefing on horseriding from Lucie, followed by a stunning 2 hour horse ride across beautiful terrain, which was then topped off with a stunning and delicious dinner as sunset dropped across the valley. Lucie made the day a total success, and her horses are really well trained and easy to ride! Can't recommend this enough!

Military Building Made In 1762 By The Portuguese.
It’s worth this travel to see this magnificent Fortaleza built by the Portugueses in 1762 and rebuilt by tha Uruguay government. Beautiful and very historic

Incredible bush next to the sea.
Wonderful place for camping and surfing and having a great time within nature. The many beaches alongside the park shores make it very special <3

We decided to go in the morning at 10 AM when the light house opened as the evening before it was very hazy and several people in line. The following morning however, we were the only ones and could take in the views peacefully. It costs about 30 UYU if i remember correctly, per person and you climb to the top. Even though it wasn't a sunny day, the views are surely worth it. With the small white houses dotted along the coastline on one side and the colorful streets on the other. Not to miss a clear view of the seal colony as well from above. Overall this was my favourite attraction in Cabo Polonio and offers the best views.

This is a point of land that has beautiful beaches and a small hippie comunity. There is now a new visitor center at km 264 1/2 on Ruta 10 where you buy tickets to ride trucks over the dunes to get to the beaches. No vehicles can drive out there other than these authorized trucks. Great unspoiled destination.
Park your car just off Route 10, hop aboard the double decker dune buggy bus, and ride across the dunes to the funky little town of Cabo Polonio. Climb the lighthouse, watch the sea lions on the rocks, soak up some sun on the beautiful beaches, and head home when you've had enough. Not to be missed if you're traveling to coastline of Rocha.

Punta del Diablo's a bit out of the way, and the town itself is nothing special, but this beach is absolutely tremendous and justified the effort on its own....
