Returning to Palm Springs, after more than 20 years, was a unforgettable and splendid experience! The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, the world’s largest rotating tram car, travels over two-and-one-half miles along the breathtaking cliffs of Chino Canyon. It is a ten-minute journey, tram cars rotate slowly, allowing spectacular vistas of the valley below. At the Mountain Station, you will find two very good restaurants, observation decks, natural history museum, gift shop and awesome trails! (over 50 miles of them!) .

Right in the middle of downtown Palm Springs..this little museum packs a big punch..An eclectic collection of art, a beautiful sculpture garden with a lovely cafe..It also contains the Annenberg Theater which is a beautiful venue for music. Don't miss it!

If you are in a hurry, you can see Palm Canyon from the parking area. There is a little gift shop in the parking lot next to the trail head. Hiking down into the canyon is fun too, but the trail is a little steep, so wear good walking or hiking shoes.

Everywhere we went in Palm Springs people told us to go here. You need to go here as soon as it opens ( open 7 days a week 10 Am until 5 PM). The Air Museum is very well set up . Airplanes are located in two hangars to the left as you enter and two hangars to the right. There are 9 people fully employed and 400 volunteers ( docents). All of the docents are veterans and have extensive information that they are ready to personally share with you. Plenty of on site parking. Admission is either $18 or $16 Senior/Military persons. You need to plan on spending many hours going from hangar to hanger-exhibitions of World War 2 and Vietnam. Many hands on exhibits that detail what specifics of the war was happening. Docents all over the area to assist and explain details as to what you are looking at. Don't forget to save time to go upstairs to the very extensive library. We looked up in the large collection of Life Magazines specific issues in our life time that were of interest to us. There is also a docent who will personally assist you on a Flight Simulator ' actually help you simulate a flight. Last visit an actual plane B-17 before you exit ( donation $5.00), but you can board it and walk through the entire plane. Highly recommend We spent 3 hours there .

This is a beautiful neighborhood, Some higher hills to give you views and vantage points and some houses that are really beautiful. Many of the estates however, " old Hollywood:" have huge barriers to vision - so that could be boring if all you could see were hedges- but happily thats not true for everywhere you walk. You are near the mountains and foothills but in very tidy neighborhoods that seem to be growing fancier by the moment. Fun to dream here.

A few days ago we hiked up this trail for the first part, which is an area with stunning views of the Indian Canyon valley! It was far too hot (82+) and we were not prepared (running shoes, no poles and not enough water. Today we managed to go well past that to the area that connects to desert riders park. Keep right to have this shortened version of a spectacular hike! This version will have to walk about a mile through the neighborhood just FYI. This is a moderate to difficult hike. Bring your poles, lots of water and some snacks, and good hiking boots that support your ankles. There are many rocks during parts of the trail so hi top hiking boots are worth bringing (plus good socks of course). For the view you make also run into some iguana like animals, geckos and hares. Amazing. Depending on your physical ability, it can take 90 minutes to 2 hours. Amazing views and worth the drive. Bring your phone or camera as the pictures are stunning.

We hiked. It was fun. There were also people coming with horses as well. We preferred hiking. Every time we passed an oasis, we had to cross the water. Sometimes it was quite funny. We cross at least several oasis. Later we had to climb a mountain and we didn't see the seven sisters. They were there. We had to go at the left side and we could see the waterfalls. P.S. We had to come back through the oasis. We had fun!
