About 200,000 names on the head stones. Soldiers from both sides and about 100,000 civilians. Casualties of war. This should be the second site to visit after the Former Navy Underground HQ. It is situated near cliffs overlooking the ocean. Lets you reflect the cruelty of mankind and what war brings.

Impressive aquarium and glad we put that in our itinerary . We went early to avoid the crowd , tourist buses started to come by around 10 am We also encountered a group of students on excursion so the place got crowded quickly . If you are not in a hurry (we are not) , just slowly stroll through the crowd and appreciate the different species of sea life on display. Fav window is of course the Whale Sharks & Giant Mantra Rays .. mesmerizing to see the giants swimming around We greatly enjoyed the place , time well spent P/S : If you intend to visit the Tropical Dream Center , keep the aquarium ticket . You get half price for the Tropical Dream Center entrance ticket

I feel that I am in a wonder land. I went there twice during my stay in Ishigaki Island. There are many bus routes coming to Kabira bay from Bus Terminal and the schedule is pretty frequent. There are shops, restaurants, view point, rest room and many more. Very convenient and safe place for solo traveler :)

Daisenkirinzan - a forested nature park with fantastic geological formations is a great place for children and adults to be free-spirited; allowing creativity to see what you want to see in the amazing rock formations. There are natural formations that look like a cat, a T-Rex, a gorilla, a crocodile; a place where you see what your eyes want you to see. The trails are clearly marked and easy to walk. There are thoughtful gestures like walking sticks/wooden staff and umbrellas provided by the park. The stone museum at the end of the walk is well curated and informative. The best part of this museum is that you can touch the exhibits.

The best snorkelling spot in Okinawa! Before you head to the cape, make sure to check the sea condition online. This was our 2nd time snorkelling here, the first time was a peak season, there were TOO many swimmers and the cave was so crowded, at the end, we gave up. This time, it was so empty and we were able to spend some time inside the cave, taking photos. It was so fun to snorkel, we brought breads to feed the fish and there were lots of colourful fish, felt like an aquarium!

Easy climb to the top with greenery all along the way. Good view of the ocean with many photo spots. Can imagine the grandeur of the castle in its heyday.
