The mission of the museum is to recognize, restore and preserve the maritime heritage of the East End of Long Island by sponsoring ongoing activities such as annual lighthouse cruises and lighthouse maintenance projects.

Visit the 1857 lighthouse and its accompanying museum that offers a unique collection of marine artifacts such as sea chests, paintings, maps, scrimshaw and photographs. Southold Historical Society volunteers are on hand to share their knowledge and love of the lighthouse.

Located in East Marion NY, Lavender by the Bay has been growing the highest quality lavender on Long Island for more than 15 years. We offer seasonal fresh cut bunches, dried lavender, lavender plants, lavender sachets and crafts, and honey from our own beehives. During our blooms there is an entry fee into the fields. This fee goes towards the upkeep and preservation of the beauty, form, and peaceful nature of our farm. We’ve released a limited amount of field tickets for both our Calverton ($10) and East Marion ($12) locations. Tickets can be purchased on our site. The lavender is typically in bloom mid/late June through mid-July, but is ultimately up to Mother Nature.
