Geddington village is worth a visit for many reasons but it is also unique in having the only triangular-section Queen Eleanor Cross of the 12 or so erected in the 1290s (nearby Hardingstone Cross on the southern side of Northampton and Waltham Cross are the other sole survivors). The quality of the stone carving at Geddington is outstanding and much of the detail remains sharp after over 700 years exposure to the elements! Historians debate the stylistic forms of the carvings and they may or may not be Spanish or English Gothic in origin but this is all a bit academic really. Go visit and spend a quiet 30 minutes or so in the centre of a virtually unspoilt English village with a rich heritage. St Mary Magdalene church, The Star Inn and the medieval bridge over the River Ise (with adjacent ford) are also worth visiting as you wander around. NB. Check SatNav for Geddington location as village now off main road but approx. mid-way between towns of Kettering and Corby.

We are an open, working family farm with indoor and outdoor adventure play areas, acres of beautiful walks, a large variety of farm animals including pigs, sheep, cows and goats. Activities on offer include free barrel rides, piglet racing, cuddle corner petting sessions with the smaller animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs. We also run pony rides and tractor tours of the farm at a small extra cost. Lots of picnic areas and a large family restaurant.
We've been coming here since my 9 year old was a baby and we love it. Staff are friendly, I can relax knowing my children are safe to run around, the facilities are great and restaurant recently really improved. The annual pass is great value for locals like us and there are regular themed weekends. Most extras within the farm are free, except pony rides and the large tractor rides so you don't feel like you're constantly being done for money. The walks are glorious, there's loads of wildlife and a new indoor playbarn which the kids love.

A unique shopping complex welcoming individual and independent businesses to share in a new, exciting experience for both retailer and customer.
Visited today, new shops have appeared and staff informed us of new plans. It seems The Yards is being revamped and even though the weather was not the best the place looked vibrant, clean and colourful. The pub has been turned into a number of retail outlets and a new food area being planned for the outside!

Wicksteed Park is a real gem of an amusement park set in beautiful countryside. We have been four times in the last two years, we heard about it from my sister in law who remembers going there as a child. It’s really well signposted and easy to find, you will find that there is a lot of parking too, it’s not free to park £6 all day and remember to pay before you leave to get an exit ticket. You can pay for parking in the shop and top tip buy your wristbands online and pick them up in the gift shop near laser quest, you will avoid the queues at the front. The park is spread out over beautiful grounds and rides go from the gentle kid friendly rides to a roller coaster and log flume. The highlights for us are the roller coaster, racing cars, log flume and umbrella ride. You can go on a train ride around the park to get your bearings and there’s loads to do it’s a packed day out. The bonus is you can take your own food in and you can exit the park and re enter with no checks or security because you only pay for the rides. We’ve never had a bad day out here, it’s not the cheapest day out but it’s a full fun day. We will definitely be returning next year with our baby to introduce her to what’s fast become a family favourite.

Made to feel welcome, and the food was beautiful, good home cooking made by the Landlady, Sue. I dined with my husband ,and we both had the roast beef, with all the tasty trimmings, it was gorgeous, the beef was so tasty and tender, loved the gravy, and the homemade yorkies, roasties ,stuffing, with new potato's and seasonal veg.. . The potions are so generous, but we ate, almost, all of it , would have been rude not to !! could not manage a pud too pogged !!! We will be back soon. Oh forgot to mention the interesting bit !! the vintage railway signage from "Garth Railway Station" Wales on the wall ( there are two Garth Stations in Wales) Landlords name is Garth, loved it .!!.
