Best zoo I've ever been to. Animal enclosures are huge and extremely diverse. The animals are very active and interactive with you. I've never before been ro a zoo where you can get so close to the animals; we were so close to the polar bears we could smell their breath through the wires. The cages are surprisingly open and some enclosures only have three walled off sides; the orangutans for example have an entire area of their expansive pen which isn't walled off the only thing stopped them from escaping is water and a thin line of electric fence, which really gives you a safari feeling. What surprised me the most is that the lions are the same! One of the restaurants, which is a communist buffet with a good selection of food, has a large window looking immediately out onto the orangutans and I loved watching them socialising with one another. An elder one had a blanket that she liked to wear like a cloak while the younger ones played and the alpha patrolled. What was great was that they told us a storm was coming 10 minutes before it happened. Simultaneously they all stopped whatever they were doing and stared up at the sky, and without a sound they all decided to head indoors and shortly after it began to rain. Brilliant sharks, brilliant fish. The tropical birds are free flying in the bird house. Otters were cheeky and had dug a little gile under their fence through which they would stick their paws and beg for acorns. One of the monkeys was desperate for attention and would scream and bang at the cage every time we tried to walk away from it. This place is great for monkey lovers there are so many kinds. There is a petting zoo aspect with many free roaming poultry and small mammals such as rabbits. The zoo is so big that we didn't even have time to see the bears. Some of the enclosures are unbelievably interactive, you can climb over one of the monkey enclosures and again there is no fencing, the monkeys only can't escape because of the way that they have placed cones on the poles to the wobbly bridge towers that you walk across preventing the monkeys from reaching the top. Expect to find animals literally everywhere, there are tiny enclosures inside of wall pillars and hidden corridors. There's even fish tanks in the toilet cubicles. It's very easy to get to on the bus. As an English speaker I didnt have issues with anything but my husband and his family are Hungarian. Some people are saying that it is expensive but all zoos are expensive and this one is very good value for money. There is also an affordable hotel on site for those who have travelled a very long way or who want to stay more than one day to actually appreciate the enclosures and see all of the shows. It is very very big; you can get a little golf cart thing to take you to some locations but still expect a lot of walking with some enclosures having stairs.

We had a fantastic wine tasting session with friends. Jani the winemaker was very cheerful, he showed us around the facility, told a couple of nice and funny stories about his wine-maker life :) We took six fantastic bottle of wines and an awesome extra dry champaigne. Even in november, the weather was so nice, we took out tables to the sun and enjoyed the event outside. 5 stars, recommended to everybody coming to Eger :)

Egri Road – Beatles Museum is located in the heart of the historic town of Eger. Guests can get a glimpse of the life and career of the band by up-to-date technical solutions. Newsreels are played and the songs of the band can be listened to, whereas contemporary publications, garments and rarities are displayed. Games and photo-taking activities take the visitors back to the legendary sixties.
Even if this museum was in London or Liverpool it would be impressive. The owner, 50 something, began his collection at age 9. There is a very well-done 12 minute documentary before you begin your self-guided tour. We took our two children (3 and 6) and they loved it. You can play guitar, listen to music, watch videos and just gaze at all the cool Beatles stuff.

Built during the 19th century for the Hungarian Millennium celebrations, this mock bastion features pointed towers and turrets, reminiscent of the fairytale castles in Disney World.
If you love pictures you certainly cannot miss the most popular selfie location...We had the perfect day on Buda side exploring the Budapest Castle grounds, followed by Fisherman's Bastions and the top of Buda where there is a beautiful garden and a stunning little village and church. The Buda sightseeing bus is the perfect way to get yourself to each stop without too much walking. When you get to the Fisherman's Bastions make sure to look at the views as long as take a selfie and group picture, the architecture is really beautiful. I would suggest going early so that you can appreciate the place without all the crowd. Pictures on @lessiaestil

The domed neo-Gothic structre was inspired by the British House of Parliament and serves as both a vibrant government center and a proud city landmark on the banks of the Danube.
This is the third largest Parliament building in the world, Budapest is an amazing city with great people, I recommend the Hop on and Hop off tour bus, make sure you purchase the boat ride included, I’m in awe❤️

The 50-year-old Skanzen is the biggest open air museum of Hungary and is situated at the foot of the Pilis Mountains, on the territory of a nature reserve. On the 60 hectares 312 buildings can be visited, all organised into regional units. The unique flora and fauna of the Museum makes its natural surroundings special too. The permanent exhibitions of the Skanzen take the visitors back to the rural countryside of 100-200 years ago, where walking among old buildings settled in a traditional settlement pattern, visitors have the unique experience of folk architecture, interior furnishings and way of life. Weekdays and holidays come to life in yards, houses, barns, workshops and churches: the housekeeper is busy in the kitchen, the miller pours grain to the mill-hopper, animals are loud in the farmyard and a bell calls the pupils to the village school.
Quite a big park with Hungarian houses from different parts of Hungary from the past. Many activities for kids, like candle making or other "do-it-yourself" activities, open-air games kids used to play before electronic gadgets appeared. There are several points where you can buy something to eat (soup, sausages) or snacks (cakes with different fillings at the "bakery", cookies). We've got an impression that one half of the park (left one if you look at the map of the park) is animated much more than another – or maybe it is because we visited another part in the second part of the day. In this second part we even did not find a place to buy a snack – only beverages were proposed or remained. The web-site does not provide a clear indication how to get to the park from the Szentendre railway station: the "local bus" schedule is from 2017 (it looks like it is still valid though) and the bus was leaving from 6th stop and not 7th (it is better to ask at the cash desk while buying the tickets for the bus). The visit takes the whole day and the park leaves a very good impression.

The historic stronghold, built between 1245-1255 A.D., guarded the Royal Crown for more than 200 years.
We visited the Visegrad Citadel by car on a sunny weekday. Parking was easy, it costs HUF 300 per hour. The parking area was limited. The citadel is an absolute must to see. You cannot get that view of the River Danube anywhere else! :-)

Built in the first half of the nineteenth century, the largest cathedral in Hungary incorporates the red marble Rakocz Chapel, a fine example of Renaissance art.
The basilica is an architectural masterpiece. Built in the early nineteenth century, it incorporates the Bakócz Chapel, built by Italian masters between 1506–1507 out of red marble from Süttő. The crypt contains a most moving memorial to Cardinal József Mindszenty. An amusing note: different tickets need to be purchased to visit the various areas of the basilica. Accordingly, there are ticket checkers stationed all over the huge building to ensure that visitors have paid appropriately. The panorama coffee bar is situated halfway up the staircase to the gigantic dome. That part of the spiral staircase is "sealed," in the sense that there are no entrances into the spiral staircase other than at the bottom. Nevertheless, my ticket with first checked at the bottom, and then again when I reached the panorama level, despite the fact that there was no way I could possibly have climbed to the panorama level without passing the ticket checker at the bottom!
