I was in Vietnam and stumbled upon Hoang's gallery while in Hue. I was so glad I did as his work is truly beautiful! He is incredibly talented. There were many pieces that I fell in love with, but one in particular really spoke to me, and while I was not originally intending on buying any artwork, I knew I could not leave without it. I made a deal to purchase the piece at a fair price, and Hoang even included shipping to my home in Arizona in the USA so I would not have to carry it with me on my motorbike and risk damaging it. I was a bit nervous paying for the artwork and trusting him to ship it, but as promised he shipped it immediately and provided a tracking number, and it arrived safely at my house back home within a few days. I have since framed the piece and it hangs in my living room. I look at it daily and it always brings a smile to my face, both because of its beauty and because it commemorates what ended up being an extraordinary journey through Vietnam. It always makes a nice conversation piece as well when people are over. If you find a piece of art you like in this gallery, do not hesitate to buy it! Hoang is a great guy and completely trustworthy, and his artwork is truly special.

Since December 2015, this was become a destination for local people and tourist, a showroom of royal products and rebuilt traditional craft villages. We visited Luc Bo Cultural Space with our daughters of 7 and 9. They had a wonderful time painting their own conic hats and painting kites while we enjoyed a royal tea. Very friendly staff, eager to communicate and share some tips about Hue. Absolutely recomended! Perfect to combine with a visit of the imperial city of Hue as it just a 5 min. walk from the exit/entrance.

Just after crossing the magnificent "Cua Ngo Mon", the awesome "Noon Gate" of the Imperial Citadel, you will reach "Thái Hòa" - the "Palace of the Supreme Harmony". Built in 1805 by Emperor Gia Long, it is a landmark of Hue Imperial Citadel. "Thái Hòa" is certainly the largest and most beautiful palace in the Citadel's complex. In its interior, the famous golden throne of the Emperors of the Nguyen Dynasty, surrounded by innumerable red lacquered columns, with emblems of royal dragons. It was mainly used for the Imperial court's rituals, such as celebrations, anniversaries, weddings, coronations and diplomatic ceremonies. "Thái Hòa" palace was pretty much damaged during Vietnam War, but has been restored to its full beauty! And remember, Hue and its monumental complex was appointed by Unesco, in 1993, as a "World Heritage Site"! Another good reason to do not miss it! Enjoy!

This was the first of the three tombs that we visited with our private driver on our historical tour around Hue. Beautiful gardens and interesting buildings, you work your way from the entrance through to the final resting place. We didn’t hire an audio guide but felt there was sufficient explanation, in English, to satisfy us. Easy to spend a couple of hours here.

Get a good guide, and he/she will explain why the 3 tombs are vastly different in styles and architecture, the religious beliefs that determine the layout of each tomb, and also all the interesting information of each king. You can’t say you have been to Hue if you have never visited the Imperial City Citadel and the Royal Tombs! This is a must visit!

Did a day tour from Hue with TNT Travel (booked through sinh tourist). Cost 499k dong, including a really decent packed lunch. This option for me was much more straightforward and better value than getting dropped off at the visitor centre and then getting car from there. It was a great day. Views from the summit Tower are excellent. We got to walk through a cave tunnel used by vietnamese soldiers (all the fruit bats in there added to the experience). There is an easy or challenging path down to the 5 lakes, we did the challenging path. It involves some climbing along rocks, using ropes to hold on to, ladders. Everyone in our group loved it. Moderate level of fitness required, it's not too tough you just need to be OK with a bit of clambering and climbing. Though if it's rainy I would say it's much more slippery/difficult. There were no real issues with leeches, it was a dry day until near the end. Spotted 3 small leeches on the ground and on one of our groups' shoe. More annoying were the wasps at the 3rd lake (very persistent) and ants on the trail from there (they bite).
