The Franklin Theatre opened in the summer of 1937 when the marquee first illuminated Main Street. The downtown historic landmark closed in 2007 but reopened as a 300 seat venue in 2011 with an investment of more than $8.5 million to again entertain, enrich, inspire and connect our community. It still features classic and recent release movies, community and private events - but most exciting are the live concerts by diverse original talents such as Sheryl Crow, Art Garfunkel, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Vince Gill, Keb Mo and many more. From blues to bluegrass, country to classical, rock to roots...you'll find an amazing roster of shows in one of the best listening rooms anywhere!
We visited for the awesome show of Lee Roy Parnell and Friends - including the beautiful Ms. Lisa Stewart and the incredible guitarists Seth James and Anson Funderburgh. These guys put on a helluva show. Lots of historic charm as Franklin theater was originally built in the 1930's, fell into disrepair in the 00's and eventually went through a big-budget renovation and restoration. Incredible sound and lighting system, comfortable seats and an overall great feel to the place. Loved the easy bar and concessions service. A great place to see a live show.

Leiper's Fork Distillery is a small batch artisan distillery featuring unaged spirits, Leipers's Fork's first bourbon since prohibition and premium spirits. It is our aim to recapture the lost art of small batch spirit production, using mainly local ingredients, pouring our heart and soul into every drop from grain to glass.
Could not have enjoyed this tour more. Pops was our tour guide & his knowledge on the distilling process, local history and simple passion for people made this a fantastic 60 minutes. And yes, the whiskey is great, too. Can't wait to return!

The Carter House was built around 1830 by Fountain Branch Carter. By the time of the Civil War it was a large agricultural operation. In the years leading up to the Civil War nearly thirty enslaved people lived and worked on the farm. The Carter home and property was consumed by the Battle of Franklin on November 30, 1864. The house served as headquarters for the United States Army during the battle. One of the Carter sons was mortally wounded during the terrible fighting and died in the house two days later. Sixty minute Classic house tours are offered as well as Battlefield, Slavery, and Extended tours.
My friends and I were so pleased with the tour of the Carter house, all agreeing that it was the best guided tour we've ever had. Our tour guide, David, moved through the info quickly, balancing war history, descriptions of the battle, and family history for an hour was fascinating from start to finish.
