One of many running paths in Eugene, sometimes called "Tracktown USA," this one is a 3.8-mile riverside loop in Alton Baker Park through a woodsy and scenic area.
Pre's Trail is named after the famed runner, Steve Prefontaine. It is such a great running trail which meanders through lush trees and it relatively flat. The wood chip trail is great on the knees and hips. Perfectly located between the University and Autzen Stadium and the Willamette Trails. A must for runners and others who enjoy a beautiful experienes.

Great hiking trail for all skill levels. Families would do well on this trail. I loved that the trail is close to the river, wide, and very little poison oak or mosquitos. Be sure allow lots of time and take a camera. My suggestion would be to go during a weekday if possible. The trail can get pretty busy during the weekends. A September hiking area after summer campers have left would be idea. If you don't mind crowds then combine your hike with a camping experience.

Miles of jogging and bicycle paths orginate in this popular urban park.
Amazing park: went for a 5-mile run with my buddy, it was amazing. You get your choice of trails: asphalt, soft redwook bark, or even riverside rugged. Plenty of space on the wide trails. Lots of variety. Looks like kayaking would be nice in the canals. A good looking frisbee golf course. Conveniently located to the Residence Inn across the street.

The Hult Center, located in Eugene, Oregon, is home to 7 local Resident Companies and many other performance groups in our community. With our 2498 seat Silva Concert Hall and more intimate 458 seat Soreng Theater, we have a variety of performances throughout the year create entertaining and enriching experiences for our community.
The Hult Center is magnificently decorated and has great acoustics. Every seat is a good seat. A live production at the Hult is an awesome experience.

And you thought your sneakers were in rough shape: this museum's best-known artifact is a pair of 9,000 year-old shoes.
This museum on the University of Oregon campus is great, and our family had a very enjoyable hour or so exploring the four main exhibits. We started with a good welcome from a volunteer docent, who explained the different areas, and then we explored each exhibit at our own pace. I really enjoyed the video clips in the Native American exhibit, especially the ones featuring the cedar canoe, but all of the information displays and dioramas were really well done. The traveling water exhibit from the Smithsonian was awesome--eye-opening and a sober reminder how we can't afford to take this precious resource for granted. The fossil section was packed with great displays as well, and our favorite prehistoric mammal, the giant sloth, was featured! The video of the TED talk on the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone NP was awesome, and really highlighted the huge number of positive changes that came about due to the presence of the wolves. A lot of museums overwhelm you with their floors and floors and great halls filled to overflowing with exhibits and massive displays, but the Museum of Natural and Cultural History in Eugene was just the right size for our family to explore on a summer afternoon.

A six-mile bike trail along the Willamette River.
Simply the best urban bikeway in Oregon and that is some pretty tough competition. Once the Riverwalk is done, both sides of the river will be connected with this path. Drops you right into downtown Eugene or all the way out to Doris Ranch.
