Cabo Rojo National Wildlife Refuge

Located in the coastal plain of southwestern Puerto Rico, this area is classified as a subtropical dry forest and known for its fabulous birdwatching opportunities.

Reviewed By couplessPS - Seattle, United States

Lovely- on one side tidelands and the other, ocean.. The road is closed some of the time so its a hike inside- and with the sun beating down on you, you need water and decent shoes. Some people brought bikes- a good idea. You go to the end to see the lighthouse and the birds and the slope of the land against the sea.

Playa Sucia

One of the island's most wild beaches. There is plenty of wilderness to explore complemented by breathtaking views. There are parking areas but they get full during the high season (summer) so make sure to get there early. Anytime before 9 am should be good.

Playa Sucia a hidden gem in Cabo Rojo... is a favorite spot among tourists and locals, here you can see mangroves, beach, cliffs all in one. Bring your camera because you have infinite spots and snorkeling around the coastal rocks and cliffs if the tie is good is a great experience. If you keep on walking pass the lighthouse you can find "Puente de Piedra" but lets leave that for a proper review on that spot.
