Read about this place in a December 2019 Tampa Bay Times article, so we just had to visit. Knowledgeable docents walk you through all the rooms and give you ample time to ask questions about each room. If you’re in to paranormal activities, a night tour is available to search for the ghosts that are said to haunt the place! It was well worth the drive from Tampa and I’d suggest a side trip to the NJoy Spirits Distillery to round out the day!

With many species of wildlife and recreational opportunities, Withlacoochee State Forest has been named one of the "10 Coolest Places You've Never Been in North America" by the World Wildlife Fund.
Beautiful terrain, forest types from basic swamp type to old oaks lining the roads. Loved the differences within a few feet from each other.

Tour this antebellum mansion filled with belongings from one of the four families that lived here.
Chinsegut Hill has a long history, dating back to pre civil war. It is located on the second highest point in Florida. It is well maintained with beautiful grounds suitable for family events. The Tampa bay History Center now is curating the furnishings and offering tours. Beautiful spot in this part of Florida. Away from crazy malls and theme parks

Interested in quality crafted beer? Look no further. Marker 48 Brewing is an excellent place to quench your taste buds. Their variety of crafted beers offers a full spectrum. While it's a self-service place, the staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The atmosphere has a unique rustic flare with a spacious beer garden outback. It offers tall barrel tables under bright red umbrellas to protect you from the hot Florida sun or a tent with comfortable coaches for larger groups. Oh did I mention the restored wagon bus that sits 4-6 people? It's such a neat place. Let's not forget the artwork display for your viewing pleasure. There's always a corner for you to enjoy your beer while listening to the tunes of a live band or jazz player and the opportunity to order delicious items from the food truck.

We are a family winery & vineyard, on 30 acres in Brooksville, FL. We have a muscadine vineyard with a tasting room, offering complimentary wine tastings, patio area to enjoy our wines and the beautiful scenery.
What a wonderful, hidden gem! The ambience and wine selection are second to none. Having been to the historic and renowned Biltmore in North Carolina, I can genuinely say that this winery is more than comparable. I had such a wonderful evening enjoying the wine, landscape, and pizza from the featured food truck. If you haven't ventured to this institution yet, you're truly missing out! The price is right and you will not regret it!

One of the reasons for travelling to Brooksville was to visit this historic train depot - one of a dozen historic train sites we've been visiting over the last couple of years. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the depot, the operations there, as well as Brooksville and the entire county. Great stories, underscored with personal knowledge. Trains were a huge part of settling Florida ... this is yet another link in the chain of knowledge.
