Drove the scenic route home today through Dartmoor after a few days in Looe. Had lunch at this pub and what a find. Courteous staff, good food and what a fantastic view over the Moore. I would highly recommend this place.

Rustic style cafe brasserie with a warm welcome located just besides Haytor Rock in the heart of Dartmoor. Guests are welcome to join us for a hearty meal, a light bite or just pop in for a drink. We serve delicious breakfasts, lunches, dinners and aftern
A good looking restaurant but nothing on the shelves so felt slightly unfinished. My selection of fish dish was surprisingly good. The burger however was not homemade and was of inferior quality both meat patty and bun. Waiting staff unsure of themselves. Would be worth knowing why there is a frame picture of Agatha Christie there when tourists ask about it!Thank you for your honest review. We appreciate your feedback. We are in the process of training our new waiting staff and they will be up to speed with the whole hotel soon! The Agatha Christie portrait is presented in our hotel reception along with her two of her books because she stayed her many years ago and in fact wrote some of her books here. Kind regards,Naz

Amy, Joe and Lewis work hard to deliver memorable dining experiences whilst always ensuring their menu ideas are fresh and innovative to keep everyone's tastebuds tingling!
Dropped in with a pal for breakfast, we both decided in the Chick-Flick: consisting of Spicy tomato chickpea chimichurri with Spanish chorizo, poached eggs and toast. With a skinny latte. The coffee firstly is amazing; great bean, full of flavour, well made and at the correct temperature. The breakfast was amazing. Eggs poached to perfection, the chickpea base stunningly flavourful and the sourdough toast amazing. Service was superb and they didnât put a foot wrong. Well ok, one minor gripe, the waitress when asked about the chimmichurri described it as an Asian spice! In fact it turned out to be mayonnaise with some herbs and not chimmichurri at at all. But that aside it was an amazing breakfast and I will be back, as Iâm eager to try the Breakfast Burrito that I saw served and looked amazing. Well done team, keep it up!!

We came across this teashop purely by chance. Visiting Ashburton and looking for a place to eat. We passed a few that did not seem inviting until we came upon the Studio Teashop. When inside there was a very warm welcome from the gentleman that greeted us, showed us to a table. The teashop is bijou but cosy. We had lunch which was exceptionally good. The teashop was clean and the gentleman very attentive, we were made to feel at home. If I lived in Ashburton I would be in this teashop a couple of times a week. Absolutely fabulous.Thank you so much for the fantastic review, sorry ive not thanked you sooner we have just got back from glastonbury festival,( ageing hippies i know,) lol,it was lovely to meet you and hope to see you again one day,it really is a fantastic review,Lots of love, steve and dave xx

We were staying in a nearby hotel and were out for a walk with the dog. We stopped in here for a drink. There is a restaurant and bar both of which looked nice and inviting. If we were here for longer we would definitely give the food a try. As it was we had some drinks and had a pleasant time sitting in the beer garden across the road. A nice girl came out and gave the dog a treat but didnât seem interested in enforcing their stated âdogs on leadsâ policy. There were a couple of wee yappie mongrels running loose much to everyoneâ annoyance but no one seemed to care. The drinks were on the pricey side which might explain why it was quiet on an otherwise busy with people, warm, sunny Saturday afternoon. Thanks for the review. Glad you stopped by and were able to enjoy our lovely garden on what has lately been a rare sunny afternoon. We do ask for dogs to be kept on leads in the garden and our drinks are very fairly priced we believe for location & quality. We hope you will stop by again if you are in the area.

A Wonderful inn set in the heart of Dartmoor serving fresh locally sourced food.
stopped off here as we often do after a ride on our bikes. arrived at 5.20 arriving at the bar and asking if the food was still available.the barman was very polite and said he would check with the kitchen.I popped off to the toilet and on my return, my partner was saying, âthats, not your fault, weâll try the other bar you have recommendedâ she also declined his asking if we would like a drink before we left. returning to our bikes she told me what she had overheard from the kitchen. the barman pointed out we had actually arrived in time, but the chef didn't want to serve us, the barman's request for maybe a sandwich (10 mins? ) was answered with â just tell them weâve run out of everythingâIâm glad he doesn't work for me. the barman was very polite and did his best to accommodate us, top young man.

The menu was a little limited but good tea room type fare. We had ham and egg and chips and pasty and chips followed by ice cream and clotted cream. Both were delicious, freshly cooked and good potions. The people on the next table were German visitors and they had cream tea which they said was great and it looked lovely.

We popped in for lunch after walking on Dartmoor on a local recommendation. This old pub is full of character and charm. We hadnât booked and even though we arrived at 12pm on a Thursday we only just managed to squeeze in - booking essential! The menu has plenty of choice and there were lots of options we wanted to try. We went for the Rugglestone platter which was very generous and came with warm bread that tasted homemade, proper ham, the Innâs own chutney and excellent cheeses. Washed down with one of the many local ciders on offer, this was delicious.
