We had to sit in a dank area of the pub which was severely dated and reminded me of the pubs my mum and dad used to take me to when I was a kid (decades ago). We'd brought our daughter along so we couldn't sit in the other bit of the pub... the nicer bit. Not family oriented, methinks.Food was delicious and tasted home-cooked, generous portions etc, but this pub really needs an overhaul in terms of decoration. We were seated near a pool table and to one side of the room there was a load of junk piled up. Not conducive to a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere I am afraid.

We are a friendly and welcoming traditional village pub where families and dogs are welcome and have a large beer garden with amazing views and a play area for the kids. Local ales, lagers, ciders and spirits available along with a selection of 30 differe
Big place, and fairly central. Carpet throughout, which is idealif your four leggers are with you. Reasonable prices, and plenty served. No fancy stuff, just friendly service, easy chli, curry, pizza etc. Ideal if staying self catering and you want hot weekday supper. Cannot fault it for sustenance, but not really an 'experience'.

We stopped off for a bite to eat before we went to book into our accommodation, the food was absolutely lovely and the staff were all polite and friendly, would definitely recommend going there for something to eat.

A small restaurant in a unique rural setting. A farm to fork concept with a modern edge. The ethos is of sustainability and conscientious sourcing. The restaurant is a beautifully converted milking parlour with a relaxed feel. service is not rushed and fo
First visit here on new years eve and had the 6 course tasting menu. Have to say we were blown away by the standard of the food and the service was fantastic. We did find the decor a little stark and the ambience lacking for a new years eve. Thought it would all finish after midnight as new years eve but we paid and left by 11.30 as the evening had ended. Finding it can be tricky as the sat nav doesn't pin point it so suggest using Google maps if going in the dark!

Due to a miscommunication between the front bar and the kitchen which is 5 meters behind it, our order was delayed by 50 min. When it arrived finally, the burger was inedible; it tasted like cardboard.Sorry to hear about your wait I do remember it as you where on table four and for some reason the till which is connected to a printing machine in the kitchen didnât go through. So the bar staff was not aware that it didnât. So the kitchen wasnât either. The 5 meters behind is not fair. Nobody knew. When we did become aware as you asked how long the food would be we sorted it straight away. I had to transfer on the till your order to another table number which then went through and we got your food out as soon as we could. The problem has now been resolved on the till so wonât happen again I hope. Iâm sorry about the burger I have made the chef aware of this !!! If I knew what cardboard tasted like I could compare but I donât. But apologies about it and I hope if you come again it will be a better experience now technical difficulties have been ironed out.

Great stopping point just 15 minutes off the South West Coast Path. I stopped here for lunch and had the delicious Leek & Potato Soup.A very nice country pub!

The northernmost pub in Cornwall, very old, in tiny, remote Morwenstow, but well patronised - bustling with activity, and we needed to book our table. Typical pub menu - good, hot fresh food, and the best chips we've ever had (piping hot, crisp, dry). St Austell beers, reasonable wines by the glass, as well as bottle. Some live music evenings (not the greatest, the evening we heard it...)

The Old Smithy Inn is a 13th century thatched inn nestled at the top of the valley in Welcombe, set in stunning unspoilt countryside a mile from the sea on the north Devon Cornwall border.
Having visited this pub before we were not disappointed with the outstanding food and friendly and welcoming staff. The Sunday lunch is as good as any Sunday Roast I have ever eaten. Amazing assortment of vegetables cooked to perfection, meat that melts in your mouth and Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes to die for !!!! All topped off with a VERY scummy pudding selection that are ALL mouth watering. I highly recommend it. We also have 4 dogs who were also made to feel welcome.Cannot wait to revisit on our next trip to Cornwall. Thank you guy's.

Cocktail Bar and Cornish Bistro. The bar was inspired by the murky glamour of the speakeasy era. Always happy to be different, preferring to think for our selves rather than follow the pack. Approachable, welcoming, lacking in pretention; we work for top
Dropped into Bude just a little before 8pm on a Saturday evening, looking for a decent meal of good quality. The Deck, The Olive Tree and popular others were full: some, even not taking orders after 8pm!!!Almost next door to The Deck is the oddly named Sazerac, and "Wow!" what a really good, well-presented meal we had. Their restaurant does not cram-in its tables or "milk" diners & holiday makers, but offers a limited menu (always a promising sign!!) and I really chose well: Cornish Clams as a divine "Starter" followed by a beautifully presented Veal, repleat with veal liver, smoked bacon and a wonderful jus.It appears to be part of the Atlantic Hotel.Loved it. Determined to return, especially as it's an easy drive from mid-Devon.Obviously, a talented Chef, but also a very good, young, polite Maitre D' and a good waitress.Well done!
