Really hungry after work, decided to walk into town and get something to eat, the pub was empty, asked for a table and the bar staff informed us they were fully booked. Gutted, we just ordered a drink, sat for around an hour and the pub was still dead, will never go again.

We arrived quite late on a Friday night. We were seated immediately upstairs and received perfectly attentive service. Just right. We ordered a couple of starters and then the Double Take with a portion of HUGE Portobello mushrooms. All of it was perfectly cooked and a great portion size. We couldn't finish but no problem it was bagged up for us. £55 with the drinks and well worth it. Very chilled atmosphere. Very much looking forward to returning.

Restaurant 178 has been the foundation of Fairlawns for over 30 years. Offering modern British cuisine to outside guests and residents in comfortable and stylish surroundings. Priding itself on fresh food, friendly service and warmth of hospitality.
Not been here in a while, the four of us had lunch which was excellent. Very attentive staff and the hotel reception/bar area was lovely with superb grounds outside. Maybe a dress code be a good idea, we were all shirt/jacket/trousers whilst Dave from Pelsall on another table was wearing trainers and a hoodie. Will return. Keep up the good work. Thanks for visiting again and for your kind comments. We appreciate all of your feedback and observations and will continue to let what our customers say reinforce and challenge what we do at Fairlawns. Warmly John

Poor service, awful sirloin, full cheap oil chips, when mentioned to waitress she replied ill tell the butcher not the professional answer i was waiting for. My dad said no can you tell the chef... Still waiting for a response!!Don't think she wants to be there. Wait to long for drinks etc etc. She was not impressed with us mentioning the sirloin surely she should of been more hospitable towards. Oh sorry but a smile wouldn't go a miss.
